Where the story ends-The Fray

Daigo smiled sadly, seeing Taichi disappear back to the real world and he leaned his back against the metal wall, bringing a hand to his abdomen, from where the blood kept flowing from the wound that would take his life there in the digiworld, if not the explosion.

"And this is where my story ends... But at least I could save these children, our future." He murmured, staring at his hand and then closing his eyes. He was at peace with his decision, but he had to admit that he wanted to at least have seen Maki one last time, things between them had ended badly, but he had continued to love her from afar, worrying about her attitudes, that had been destroying her slowly.

"D-Daigo?"

Daigo opened his eyes slowly, seeing Maki, her face tired and shocked, in front of him, holding something in her hands as he stared at his former girfriend's appearence.

"Maki... What are you doing here?" He muttered, trying to get up, but she fell to her knees in front of him, pushing him back lightly against the wall, letting the object fall to the floor as she pressed her hands against his wound.

And he saw Maki's digivice, black, which had been broken years ago after the battle against the dark masters but somehow managed to get her there and then he stared into Maki's face, which was focused on his wound.

"You shouldn't have come here..." Daigo murmured, pulling her bloody hands away from him and staring at her seriously. "This place is going to explode and there is no way out..."

Maki was shocked for a moment, her eyes wide as she stared at him, but then she closed her eyes and when she reopened them, there was a softness and peace in her eyes that Daigo hadn't seen in years, and then she released her wrists from his grip, bringing a hand to his face and caressing it carefully so as not to stain it with blood and she said sincerely:

"I don't care. I asked my digivice to take me to you and here I am..." She stroked his cheek, watching Daigo open a small smile at her touch, which made her happy and then admitted: "I just wish I had given you more attention , having been a better girlfriend when we were together because you've always been so good to me... And I loved you so much. I still do."

"I don't care." He admitted and then wrapped his arm around her, bringing her to him and lifted her chin, ignoring the pain, and opened a beautiful smile that made her melt: "I know you went through some bad times, so I was happy with whatever things you'd offer me. Because I love you too, Maki."

And seeing the surprise on her beautiful face, Daigo brought her chin closer and kissed her lightly, tasting her lips after years, and his heart warmed. Despite the surprise, Maki felt a great happiness and corresponded to the kiss.

When they broke off the kiss, Maki leaned her head against his chest, and he took her hand from his face and put then over her heart, and he knew that even though their story would end soon, he was happy they were together again, in peace with the other.
