This is the intro to my first story, Living as a Monster. Sorry about short length. At first this was going to be a one-shot, but I thought that multiple-chapter story would be better

Being a monster was not as easy as it sounded. It was boring, yet exciting at the same time. With only a few thought on their minds, monsters were always following the same routine. Mostly the routine consisted of one phrase. That phrase was made up of two very famous words in the monster society.

Killing Demigods

Some monsters dealt with this task very seriously. Hunting down demigods for years, they would track them all over the world. Others, lesser known monsters, would only attack a demigod that came to them. Of course, every monsters dream was to kill the famous Perseus Jackson. A normal monster couldn't kill one demigod before they were sent to Tartarus. Some luckier ones would get one, while the most famous monsters, like the Minotaur, would get one or two demigods per 'life'(1) Every once and awhile monsters were lucky enough to get one of the demigods of well known gods, such as Ares, Apollo, Athena, Hephaestus, and the annoying offspring of Hermes. The sons and daughters of Demeter, Dionysus, and Aphrodite weren't that hard to kill. They hardly knew how to fight.

Tracking monsters in any way is hard. With most having disguises as mortals, demigods who can't see through the mist very well have a hard time tracking them. Some blend into plain sight, only hiding their tails or wings, while others live far away from any human life. Most monsters can only be found around demigods. The chimera was a great tracker. The Minotaur was near unstoppable with it's brute strength and size, while others, like Python, were immortal. So, basically the easiest way to track monsters is to be around a demigod, or be a demigod your self. You can't exactly track one, but you can find many.

Some demigods have heard mysterious reports of a monster eating demigods, and sometimes even mortals. The monster was said to be half snake and half nymph.

This monster was known as the Echidna

Important request! If anyone who reads this has an OC of a god or goddess, not including the Big Three, and you allow me to use it in this story, whether it be to be eaten or slay Echidna, could you please submit in a PM? Thanks!

R&R! I hope you all like it so far! Ss I said, sorry for short length, It's the intro.

'Life' – the period of time a monster gets before getting sent to Tartarus
