Remus wondered if anything would ever feel more right than this.

He stared at the canopy of his four poster bed, smiling serenely as Sirius traced the scars on his chest first with his fingers, before trailing kisses across his body. This had to be the kind of love everyone talked about. Strong, eternal. Remus stared at the man he loved, twisting a strand of his dark hair around his finger. Smiling wider, he snuggled closer, his grin growing smug when Sirius let out a small moan of delight. No, there was definitely nothing better than this. Nothing could ever top what he and Sirius had. Ever. Assured by that thought, and with Sirius' large arms wrapped around him, he fell to sleep.

His dreams were troubled.

He was chasing a small boy with turquoise blue hair down a dark corridor, while a young woman with bright pink hair watched on sadly. A giant black dog blocked her path as she reached for the boy, who seemed to be growing fuzzier and fuzzier by the minute, until he evaporated in a wisp of smoke.

Remus sat up in bed, sweating. Sirius was sound asleep beside him, his mouth slightly agape. Slowly, Remus lay back down. It was only a dream.
