Christine sighed as she finished the letter. She wished Erik had showed her this side of him before everything had gone so wrong that night at the Opera Populaire. This soft caring side made his past transgressions almost forgivable. She knew deep inside that he was gone, that the mob had caught him, yet every night in her dreams she heard him sing. Looking at the ruins of the opera house she knew it was the last time that she would do so. Raoul thought it best that she quit the opera for her own safety and to stop the media from butchering her reputation. She knew they would it tear apart regardless. She whispered softly "Erik, I love you."
