My name is Peggy Schuyler. I have several siblings, including the Famous Elizabeth Schuyler and Angelica "Punched-Jefferson-in-the-face" Schuyler. Both of my sisters seemed to be more accomplished than me. They seemed to have the perfect marriages and the perfect lives. And here I was married to our second cousin just because I couldn't have the one thing that I wanted.

One of the reasons why I was married to Stephen Van Rensselaer was because I was told that I was too sarcastic. Of course I am most definitely not. The other main reason was because most men that saw me thought that I gave their wives or sisters more attention than them. Its not my fault. I just think that the fairer sex is the one that I am a part of, and that they need the proper love and attention.

Of course if my friends or family ever found out my little secret, they would have me arrested. And in saying that, the only person who ever seemed more comfortable with me was John Laurens. He was a friend of Alexander Hamilton's from the war. He once told me that he had feelings for Alex but gave up on that dream when Alex married my sister. In fact only John knew that I was a lesbian. And my secret all came unravelled when I met her. Maria Reynolds.

She was lonely and needed someone, and I was there for her. I was there when her husband was trying to manipulate her in one way or another. I was more than just a shoulder to cry on. I was her confidant. Some might even call her my lover. And to be honest, I did love her.
