Kino quickly looked up to see just what Hermes was talking about. Almost instantly, it burst into loud colors and smoke. She was startled, but she knew the truth.
"Don't worry your hubcaps off, Hermes. They're fireworks."
Hermes' voice sounded confused. "Fireworks? What are they for?"
Another blast caused the motorrad to squeak in fear. Kino smiled and explained, "Fireworks are usually for celebration. A country nearby must have a holiday or something going on."
"Well, let's get a moose on it! Let's go!" He replied enthusiastically.
Kino thought for a moment. "Don't you mean 'get a move on it'?"
"That's what I said." Hermes said quickly as another batch of bright fireworks caused his chrome to glow.
She laughed and mounted him, pulling her goggles over her eyes. The light of the fireworks became muted due to the dirty lens, but they were still visible as they led her to the celebrating town.

I was inspired to write this when I put Kino + Fourth of July together. This is really short, but I like it. The moose joke was something I had to stick in there too.
