Scritch. Scritch. Scritch.
The sound of pen on paper filled an otherwise completely silent office. In the office sat a large desk with neatly stacked piles of paper resting on top of it. To its side stood a hat and coat stand. There hung a purple top hat as well as a dark blue coat. Behind the desk sat the Sheriff of Piltover, Caitlyn.
She had just began the day at the office and already she was in full gear, diminishing the piles of paperwork with ease. Then there was loud knock on her door. " 'S me, Cupcake! " a voice exclaimed behind the door. Caitlyn knew that loud voice to be of her Deputy, Vi, the Piltover Enforcer. Someone whom she had never expected to be on the Piltover Patrol, much less that she would recruit Vi herself, due to Vi's rough and rather 'uncultured' ways.
"Come in" Caitlyn breathed, leaning back into her chair as the door swung open. Vi entered the office with a smirk on her tattoed, pierced and scarred face. The tall woman strode to the Sheriff's desk and slammed a stack of papers onto it. Vi was powerfully built, obviously due to the nature of her work ethic- which involved waving around gauntlets that Vi proudly claimed weighed at least over 1500kg each. Vi was currently without her gauntlets, however, and with the sleeves of her brick red jacket rolled up to her elbows, the numerous cuts, bruises and burn marks (from brawls and careless heat insulation) on her muscular forearms and callused hands showed how much toll the gauntlets really were, even if Vi would never admit to it.
Truthfully, Vi's rather savage appearence was only betrayed by her deceptive intellect. Vi was able to build Hextech Gauntlets- in a cave! A feat accomplished by neither Jayce nor Heimerdinger. After a brief dialogue with Vi, Heimerdinger had told Caitlyn " She's a genius. She lacks the knowledge of various terminologies, however. I speculate that she may know more about Hextech than me, and neither of us could tell. " When inquired, Vi would answer " How I built these awesome gauntlets? I dunno. I think I punched the gears or somethin'."
Caitlyn then looked over to the stack of papers Vi had slammed onto the desk. She knew Vi didn't slam them out of anger or anything- it was just her being Vi. The reports were, as all of Vi's reports, had an extremely 'informal' language. Even so, the report sent its point across and was fairly accurate so the Sheriff had no reason to criticise.
" That was quick. " the Sheriff remarked in her British accent. "You didn't hide empty reports between the filled ones again did you?"
" Maybe " Vi snickered, which prompted a glare from the Sheriff. " Nah, not this time, honest, Cupcake" Vi said with a cheeky grin.
That remains to be seen, Caitlyn thought. But at the back of her mind she knew Vi was telling the truth. Then again Vi could be unpredictable at times. In the office you'd think she was a playful, loud-mouthed and laid back officer who didn't take her job seriously. But in the field you'd never meet anyone as brave and strong-willed. Vi's tendency to act on impulse and instinct proved to be her greatest asset as well as a liability. Where Caitlyn's strategical methods failed, Vi's quick wits would always thrive. This was especially true against the now notorious criminal: Jinx. Her absolute randomness had baffled everyone on the Piltover Patrol, Caitlyn included, but not Vi. Each time Jinx wreaked havoc on Piltover, Vi would be the only who could react under all the chaos. " 'S kinda normal on the streets " Vi would say casually.
" Imma go on patrol. Ya wanna come? " Vi offered.
Caitlyn pointed at the stack of papers to her left and said " Perhaps later "
Vi shrugged and casually strolled back to the office's entrance. " Oh, and Cupcake? " she called.
Caitlyn looked up.
Vi licked her lips and said " That stupid coat really should stay off. And you should wear your miniskirt again. Oh damn I miss that"
Caitlyn glanced at her dark blue coat which hung on the hat and coat stand on her right. She had recently changed her dress code to a more reserved one, where she wore pants and a long coat, as suggested by her father, Aionstailus. He said that many of the city's people referred to her dress as that of a stripper's and he wouldn't have that. The Sheriff didn't really mind the snide remarks but relished the thought of having a coat to bring more equipment for her rifle. Though she enjoyed her new outfit, Vi seemed to abhor it greatly.
It was no secret Vi liked women, nor was it a secret that women liked Vi. Then again most of Piltover Patrol liked Vi anyways due to her wild, happy-go-lucky personality that many found extremely comforting. It was a nice change from the constant no-bullshit, all-work-no-play approach Caitlyn had for her staff. They would complain, but it was efficient and it worked. Vi, however would always find the right times to crack a joke to lighten the mood or make an excuse for a break, much to the Sheriff's dismay and the staff's delight.
Caitlyn sighed. " I think I know that it's not the miniskirt itself that you miss "
Vi laughed. " Oh Cupcake…'course it ain't " Then Vi exited the office and closed the door behind her with a loud thud.
The Sheriff was then left alone in her office, and once again only the sound of pen on paper filled the air.
After Caitlyn finished the paperwork, she called in her secretary to take them away. A young, small, blonde woman entered the office.
" Next is the meeting with the mayor, correct? " the Sheriff asked for confirmation. "Er- Yes, yes." The secretary almost jumped.
The staff at Piltover Patrol respected the Sheriff, but they also feared her, as Caitlyn had realised quickly after joining the force. Unlike Vi, Caitlyn was rather socially awkward, at least to the commonfolk. Strange, seeing as Vi was the one who looked intimidating while Caitlyn was prim and proper. It was ironic that, as Sheriff, her job was to protect the commonfolk, yet she had no real connection to them. No real reason to protect them. Why did she do her job then? Was it purely to fight crime and disorder? To satisfy her ego, perhaps? She thought back to why she became a cop. It was when her father was assaulted and robbed by low-lives. She had sworn an oath to rid the city of evil then. Was that what this was all about, then? Vengeance? The thought lingered on Caitlyn's mind before shifting its focus to Vi.
Vi….perhaps she was a better cop than Caitlyn. She had a firm reason to protect the people, she knew their pain, their fears and their troubles as she had experienced it first-hand. Things which had eluded Caitlyn who grew up in a large mansion that had everything she needed and more. Vi also had a strong connection to the people, she had a large network of friends and informants, something that has greatly helped the Piltover Patrol. Caitlyn felt like she was lacking something Vi had. Perhaps she'd ask Vi about it? The pinkette always seemed to enjoy chatting with Caitlyn, and strangely enough, so did Caitlyn. The Sheriff never had friends out of work, partly since there was rarely 'out of work' time. Only Vi came to visit her off working hours. Even though they had almost no common ground, each other's company was somehow welcomed.
Caitlyn glanced at her watch as she made her way to the car that was waiting for her in front of the station. She was early. Good. She stepped into the car. "Mayor's estate" she told her driver. With a quick nod, he started the car and began making his way to the destination.
"….First off, property damage." the Mayor began.
The Mayor had called Caitlyn to his office to discuss a certain troublemaker. The problem was that the troublemaker also happened to be an official who was supposed to be preventing trouble not cause them. This would be part of the liability Vi's instincts and impulsiveness brought her. Scorn from the Mayor, and just as importantly, from the Piltover Patrol's financial suppliers. It was hard to convince them that Vi was less harm than good. Honestly, though, imagine if their scorn turned Vi against Piltover. She'd wreck the whole town at legendary speed. No wall in the city was too hard for Vi to break. At least Vi would do less damage where Caitlyn could keep an eye on her.
" Numerous noise complaints " the Mayor continued.
Ah yes, Vi was loud-mouthed, and sometimes repairing and upgrading her gauntlets could be noisy or carry deep into the night. Sometimes both. Well maybe if they actually gave her a lab like Vi wanted, this wouldn't occur. It's not like she was doing it to spite people, but people don't exactly care for excuses these days. They want results, and the results weren't exactly pleasing.
" and…various accounts of sexual harassment " the Mayor ended with a deep sigh.
Not defending you there Vi, Caitlyn thought.
" I hope that this…'Vi' actually has a good enough track record to overlook these…offences for this month" the Mayor said grimly.
"Of course, sir. " the Sheriff replied confidently.
Something about how the Mayor addressed Vi ticked Caitlyn off, but she let none of that show. She then began listing the long list of good deeds Vi had accomplished for the past few months. At the end, the Mayor sighed and took Vi's records.
" Sheriff, is there anything else about this woman you would like to tell me? Anything that will help win the support of your financial suppliers? " the Mayor asked in complete doubt.
" Sir. It is of an honest opinion that rather than criticising a person's mistakes, praising their achievements is much more efficient at improving their track record. If they show Vi more appreciation, I believe it would make her a better officer. As of right now, she is probably frustrated that her good deeds are gone unannounced and only her mistakes are brought to light, causing her to lash out at times, because she thinks it won't matter what good deed she does. We need to tell her it does matter. And that is by giving more focus to her achivements and rewarding them, instead of more punishments. " Caitlyn replied positively.
The Mayor looked at the Sheriff who was confident in her beliefs. He then turned his glance to Vi's records in his hands. " Thank you for the insight Sheriff. You are dismissed. " he said as he looked over the records one more time to memorise what he would later have to present to the financial suppliers.
" Thank you for having me, sir. " Caitlyn thanked.
It was nearly midnight by the time the day's work was finally done. Caitlyn walked to her apartment door and was a bit surprised to see Vi standing at the corridor, undoubtedly awaiting the Sheriff's arrival. Caitlyn saw that Vi was still geared up and had a rather crestfallen look on her face.
" Found something serious on patrol? " Caitlyn asked although suspecting that was not the case. Usually Vi would act then report, not the other way around.
" Oh! Hey Cupcake! Nah nothin' serious happened. Just thought I'd pay a visit. Sorry if I startled you with the gear. " Vi replied assuredly.
" Come on in. " Caitlyn said as she opened the door to her apartment.
" With great pleasure " Vi smiled.
Caitlyn switched on the lights which shone onto a rather plain looking apartment. It was tidy, more so because there was rarely anyone home to mess it up than anyone actually tidying it. Caitlyn hung her hat and was about to take off her coat when she felt a burning gaze behind her and decided against it. Vi groaned, then took off her gauntlets and left them by the entrance.
" Care for a spot of tea? " Caitlyn offered.
" Oh that would be delightful! " Vi exclaimed, impersonating Caitlyn's British accent.
Gosh, do I really sound like that? Caitlyn wondered, but only gave a slight chuckle and made some tea for the two. Her accent wasn't exactly rare, but people claimed hers was heavier than most. Not that she minded it before, but Vi's occasional impersonations made her slightly self-conscious about it.
As soon as Caitlyn placed the teacups on the table in front of a sofa the two women were sitting on. "So…." Vi stirred her tea. "…how's my status?"
"You knew?"
"Yep. Officer Tap-dancer told me. "
" Pardon? "
" Oh, I meant Officer Warren"
" He can tap-dance? "
" I think he's got potential. "
The two women shared a quick laugh. Caitlyn leaned back into the sofa and turned to face Vi. " I received a call from the Mayor this affernoon. He said our financial suppliers were quite happy with you, surprisingly. They say you are turning to the kind of promising cop that they'd like to finance. As a reward, they promised to give you a lab" Caitlyn said with a satisfied smile. It seemed her words had gotten through to the suppliers, surprisingly. Vi has finally proved her worth it seemed.
" Nice try,Cupcake. But c'mon we both know that ain't true " Vi chuckled nervously.
Caitlyn stared at Vi.
" You're joking. "
Caitlyn shook her head.
" Holy shit. You're fuckin' serious ain't cha." Vi said as a look of utter disbelief formed on her face.
" O-okay ho- wha- why the flyin' fuck would those haters- I mean- just what the fuck!? Is this a trap? Oh,the lab is rigged with explosives ain't it? Or maybe poisonous gas? Oh I call poisonous gas! " Vi stammered.
Caitlyn could only laugh at Vi's disbelief. " If you had waited for tomorrow I would have had the paperwork to prove it, Vi " Caitlyn said between laughs. Gosh it felt like forever since she last had this good a laugh. " Don't worry,Vi. I'll go with you and make they don't have any traps installed. " she said to reassure the shocked Vi.
" Pinch me Cupcake " Vi requested. Caitlyn obeyed and tried her best to pinch Vi's muscular left thigh.
" Too tough " Caitlyn remarked.
" Try the spot in between "
" Nice try, Vi "
Vi guffawed. " Sorry, Cupcake. 'S so strange….I never saw this comin', y'know? Usually no matter how much good I do, those flamers would just focus on my mistakes and would criticise me for every little shit I stepped on. Wonder what the hell changed their retarded minds? "
" I may have had a hand in it. " Caitlyn confessed.
" Oh ho ho,Naughty naughty, Sheriff! Must've flashed those geezers, huh? Betcha it took them more than 5 minutes to cool down! " Vi joked.
" What the- No! Gosh! Ugh! " Caitlyn shuddered at the thought, much to Vi's amusement.
Suddenly, Vi held Caitlyn in a tight embrace. " Hey. Thanks, Cupcake. You're the best. Ever. " Vi whispered. Caitlyn almost cried at those words. Vi had a way of saying things with such raw emotion it was impossible to doubt the sincerity behind them. After a moment, Vi let go. Caitlyn noticed the strong woman had teary eyes as well.
" Hey, you're the one who did all the work, I only encouraged them to give you better chances. " Caitlyn said truthfully.
" Ohho you sweet-talker you~ " Vi grinned.
" You see, Vi. I think you're quite underrated, in actual fact. I think you're an amazing cop….even better than me. " Caitlyn revealed her thoughts from earlier this morning.
" Better than you!? Hah! That'll be the day! " Vi laughed.
" I'm serious. I'm the Sheriff, I have to protect the lives of the citizens. But lately when I look at you I realise that I don't know a quarter of the people I'm even trying so hard to protect. It…makes me wonder if I'm really doing this for the people or for myself. " Caitlyn said, obviously conflicted.
Vi listened intently.
" Even at work, I don't exactly pay much attention to my staff. I just order them around and….I admit I don't really know any of them in person. You on the other hand, know everyone from work and even come up with silly nicknames for them. You have loads of friends across the city and I…well I only have my parents. I'm just a cop who's good at dealing with criminals while you can do that and you have a proper motive to save people. You know their pain. You're….compassionate towards others whereas I'm not. " Caitlyn explained, depressed.
Vi breathed deeply. " Cupcake, listen…" Vi began as she held Caitlyn's hand. " I'm kinda honoured you think that of me, but I don't think you're any less amazin'. I mean without you, the city'd probably have fallen to ruin by now, and me along with it. "
Vi paused. Caitlyn didn't react much to that.
" I guess we both can learn from each other. I can learn to fight crime better from you, and you can learn the way of the people from me. Everybody's learnin' amirite? " Vi continued.
" I…suppose. But….where do I start? " Caitlyn responded.
" Well, if you wanna, " Vi said as she leaned in closer to Caitlyn until their faces were mere inches apart " you could start with me. " she cooed as a smirk played on Vi's lips.
Caitlyn was slightly taken aback by that suggestion. She seemed to have opened up a lot more than usual today and was currently being comforted by Vi, of all people. Well, it wasn't too weird considering how relaxed she always is around Vi. Vi always managed to tap into her soul, something Caitlyn never knew existed. Perhaps that was what Vi had and she lacked: a soul. Caitlyn's mind and body were excellent but what of her soul? Her soul lacked nourishment. She never made time for it. That may be the reason for her alienation. Maybe it was….finally time to give it some.
" I think that'd be nice… " Caitlyn smiled.
It was Vi's turn to be taken aback. She hadn't expected the Sheriff to accept the invitation. In truth Vi was half-expecting another ' Nice try ' from the guarded Sheriff. And she was still expecting it somewhere at the end. This night was just too good to be true.
Caitlyn's hands reached for Vi's tattooed cheek, caressing it fondly.
Vi pulled closer to Caitlyn.
Caitlyn closed her eyes.
Their lips were millimetres apart by now.
Wait, Caitlyn thought, finally realising what she was doing. Sure she needed a friend, but that didn't mean she had to kiss Vi, did she? She just needed someone to guide her in some soul searching. That's all. She wasn't offering herself up to Vi's womaniser ways. She had to pull back.
And she did.
Vi opened her eyes slowly, still entranced. " Wha…? "
Now Caitlyn had to say something. Anything!
" Nice try Vi. " were the only words that could come naturally.
" Oh for the love of- I knew it! God fuckin' dammit! " Vi cursed, sinking into the sofa in defeat. Her face full of frustration. She really thought she had Caitlyn's 'cupcake-hole' by the end there. It was the first time Caitlyn had ever played along with Vi's advances after all. Usually they were shot down instantly. But those felt better as there was less hope crushed. This time however….it felt cruel, like when you'd be dying, and help was a step away, only to trip down and fall on a mushroom or something.
Caitlyn hoped she didn't hurt Vi's feelings, she didn't mean for that whole thing to happen. It didn't feel like their usual routine of her turning down all of Vi's advances. It felt…personal. Like Caitlyn had just shot down an honest gesture. But that couldn't be right. Vi was definitely playing around anyways.
" Part of the Mayor's complaints were 'various accounts of sexual harassment'. Care to explain, Enforcer? " Caitlyn said, hoping to sound professional, like it was their usual routine.
" Fuck if I know, Sheriff. " Vi hissed.
Uh oh. She just put Vi in a foul mood, evident by the distinct lack of cupcakes. Why did she bring up Vi's mistakes of all things? What happened to believing in praise not criticism? Gosh Caitlyn hated herself now. Acting on impulse most definitely wasn't her strong suit.
Vi got up." Imma head home. Maybe grab a pint on the way. "
Vi in foul mood plus alcohol plus bar equals trouble. Caitlyn had to convince Vi to calm down or stay or something! If Vi caused trouble tonight, the Enforcer could say goodbye to the financial suppliers' lab and appreciation.
" You didn't finish your tea. " Caitlyn pointed at the untouched cup of tea on the table.
Wow,Really? That's the best you could do, Sheriff? Caitlyn thought, amazed at herself.
" Tea is for sissies in top hats anyway. " Vi snapped.
Caitlyn gulped. It was one of Vi's common lines, but it felt different. Like there was….malice? Caitlyn couldn't quite put her finger on it. She must have really pissed Vi off. It was just normal, right? Why'd Vi get so upset? Vi had seen it coming, anyways.
Vi opened the door for the apartment's entrance and equipped her hands with her gauntlets.
Caitlyn had to say something now. But it felt like everything she did now only made things worse. Perhaps Vi just needed time alone. It wasn't a big deal, anyways.….
…was it?
Scritch. Scritch. Scritch.
Once again, Caitlyn was back in her office doing paperwork as usual. Only this time, her pen was not on fire like the day before. Her mind constantly wandered off to the pinkette who had not shown up for work today. She felt horrible for leaving things with Vi the way she did. Vi was only trying to comfort her, yet she pushed her aside even though she was the one who pulled the pinkette in.
Whatever, work now, worry later. Caitlyn thought as she tried to focus.
A pipe dream it was, as the next file Caitlyn grabbed was titled: " Approval of Laboratory Loan to the Piltover Enforcer, Vi "
Caitlyn really hoped Vi hadn't caused any trouble last night. Disappoint the suppliers now and it'll take a miracle if they consider it again within the next decade.
Caitlyn let out a quick sigh.
If anything happened, it'd be her fault. She couldn't believe how poorly she handled last night's events. Some Sheriff she was. Caitlyn thought. She should have just accepted the kiss! Then everything didn't have to be so complicated. At that thought, the image of Vi and Caitlyn locked in a passionate kiss crossed Caitlyn's mind, leaving her lightheaded. Would things be less complicated? If she had kissed Vi, it would start a relationship, right? First of all did Caitlyn even like women? Sure she had never dated a man, nor has she thought of any of them as attractive, but that didn't mean she was into women.
Then what was that near-kiss-experience?
Never had the proud Sheriff of Piltover let someone that close to her heart. Or lips, for that matter. She had always enjoyed having Vi around, even if Vi always teased her. Vi was a loyal friend and a great Deputy. Caitlyn recalled her thoughts from yesterday. She had eyed Vi's physique, admired her capabilities, stood up for her and let herself be comforted by her. Was there something more to it? Then Caitlyn remembered that she hadn't bothered to defend Vi on her 'sexual harrassment'. Why was that? She wasn't mad that Vi was hitting on other girls, was she? That couldn't be. Jealousy? Her? Impossible.
This is getting nowhere. Caitlyn thought.
A soft knock on the door brought a much needed mental break.
" Come in " Caitlyn called.
The door opened and the secretary went inside the office. " Documents on the prisons. " the young female reported as she handed a stack of files to the Sheriff. As she was about to leave, Caitlyn stopped her.
" Miss…Holly?" she called.
"Y-Yes?" Came the timid reply.
" I'm sorry if I intimidate you. I just wanted you to know that you don't have to be so afraid of me. You're doing an excellent job. Keep it up. " Caitlyn remarked.
" Yes, Ma'am! Thank you very much! " Miss Holly said happily, surprised by the Sheriff's warm behaviour.
" Oh and…would you happen to know where the Enforcer is? " Caitlyn inquired.
" Vi? Some of the guys said they met her at the local gym in the morning. She told them she was going to be quite late. " Miss Holly responded.
The gym? Caitlyn thought. Not the bar?
" Miss Holly. I'll be stepping out for a bit. Inform Officer Warren that he is in charge until I return. " Caitlyn told her secretary.
" Officer Tap-dancer?"
" Sorry?"
" A-At once. " Miss Holly corrected.
Caitlyn could hear the pounding of fists onto a punching bag. She had just arrived at the local gym, where Vi usually worked out at.
Vi always did have an insane workout routine. The lifting and the cardio. Especially the cardio. Most fighters would be out of gas in 5 rounds but Vi could go on 10 and still be fresh and juicy. Assuming anyone could last that long with Vi without getting massacred. Most don't even dare to try.
Caitlyn opened the door to the gym to see Vi, whose hands were adorned with boxing tape instead of the usual oversized hextech gauntlets. Vi was in her workout attire, a brick red sports bra and black boxers. She was pounding a sandbag to oblivion. Vi finally punched the bag so hard it tore the bag, broke the chains that it hung by, and sent it across the gym.
Excessive Force.
Vi turned around and was about to grab another one when she noticed Caitlyn by the entrance.
" Whoa. Heya Cupcake. Damn, you a ninja? " Vi waved, panting.
Cupcake. Caitlyn thought. She used to hate that nickname. Today, however, she couldn't be more glad. Nowadays Caitlyn hated being called 'Sheriff' by Vi and yet not the silly nickname. Weird. Then again everything was pretty messed up with Vi, and somehow Caitlyn enjoyed every moment of it, not that she'd admit to it.
Now that Vi was facing her, Caitlyn couldn't help but stare at Vi's gorgeous muscles which were on full display. Vi's strong arms and rock hard abs were probably some of the reasons why Vi was well liked by women. Even more so now with her all her sweat which only added to her sex appeal. Caitlyn glanced at Vi's fists. Even more reasons.
"….Cupcake? " Vi called out, oblivious to the other woman's gawking.
" Oh- What- I- ehem, I just thought you'd be at the bar, you said you wanted a pint. " Caitlyn stammered, glad Vi didn't catch her staring. That would be awkward.
" Well 'twas just a maybe. " Vi shrugged. She then motioned Caitlyn to sit with her on a nearby bench. " I figured if I got myself drunk I might get into trouble and throw all your effort for me into the drain. " the pinkette explained.
" Wow, I'm actually proud of you. You're so responsible now. " Caitlyn complimented Vi's sensible behaviour, which had been quite consistent these past few months.
Vi raised her scarred eyebrow " I'm gettin' the distinct impression you've been embarrassed of me until now. "
" Gosh, it's not like that Vi! I didn't mean- no-"
" Chillax,Cupcake! " Vi laughed. " I'm just messin with ya. "
Caitlyn stayed silent for a while.
" Last night-" Caitlyn began.
" Cupcake…you don't have to…" Vi interrupted her.
" I do. I'm sorry for what I did and said yesterday. I didn't mean to trick you like that, I was just caught up in the moment…and I didn't want to do something I wasn't ready to do. " Caitlyn apologised.
" Nah…" Vi replied " 'S kinda my fault for getting ahead of myself. I shouldn't have pushed that on you so suddenly." she added understandingly. " I was betrayed by my own delusions. Wasn't your fault, Cupcake. "
Caitlyn smiled, glad that Vi wasn't still mad at her, evident by the distinct abundance of cupcakes.
" 'Twas just….you had opened up to me, and I…was ready to open myself up to you too. I know this might sound fuckin' ridiculous, but I was plannin' on startin' a real relationship, not mere one night stands. I figured with you I could definitely get serious." Vi said sheepishly.
Caitlyn stared at the pinkette, wide eyed. Vi. The womaniser. Wanting a stable relationship? With Caitlyn,of all people? The two of them were so different it was laughable. Yet the thought lingered on Caitlyn's mind, and again the image from earlier that morning resurfaced in her thoughts. She thought of a relationship with Vi. It would be weird. But if there were anyone Caitlyn had to pick to be in a relationship with, it'd be Vi.
Vi noticed Caitlyn's silence. " Fuck. Forget I said shit. " Vi said as she looked away, embarrassed.
" Vi….I'd like that. For real. " Caitlyn replied, finally.
" This time you won't refuse? " Vi asked, still looking away.
" As long as you don't jump the gun. " Caitlyn answered.
" Oh. " Vi said, disappointed.
Caitlyn mentally cursed herself for what she was about to say.
" Well, maybe just this once, as an apology…. as congrats for getting a lab….and as the beginning of our relationship. " Caitlyn said bashfully.
Vi spun around.
Caitlyn didn't have time to steel herself for the sexy beast.
FIN
Thanks for reading! First ever fanfic.
Afterthoughts:
Very noob I'll admit… there was zero action in the whole story. So sorry for that! But hey I'm fine with how it turned out. I always like slow paced romances, at least in the beginning of the romance.
Sorry if Caitlyn's 'Gosh' doesn't sound very British, I don't really know the equivalent. (Sorry,British!) And Vi always using words like " 'S, 'Twas " instead of " is, it was " not sure what kind of accent is that, I just wanted to give her a more casual feel. Not sure how well that worked.
Also, I wrote Vi's gauntlets to be 1500kg each. The wiki said her gauntlets were around 3000kg (~8000lbs). I'm not sure if it meant collectively or respectively. I just googled the heaviest weight lifted by humans, which was 1600+ kg. So I figured 1500kg sounded reasonable. I know Vi uses Hextech gear so she doesn't lift the whole weight and so her build doesn't matter that much but I like athletic body types. And so does Cait, lol.
Made a few references here and there, not sure whether y'all understood them but whatever. Aionstailus. C'mon tell me y'all got that one.
Good day!
