Friends in need
It was a normal day for Roderick as he strolled down the halls of McKinley. He wore his usual attire and wore his huge headphones on his head but something was different at that time. He was on his way to his locker when suddenly his face was covered in the infamous red-orange slushie. The Jocks went passed him laughing their heads off and high-fiving each other at their success. His usual white clean Headphones was now red-orange in colour. His specs were covered in slushie that almost couldn't wear off. He reached his locker and stuck his book in while taking out a piece of towel from his locker and went to the bathroom to wash it off.
Meanwhile in the locker room. The Jocks came back smiling and that caught Spencer's attention.
"What are you guys laughing about?" Spencer asked them
"It's nothing. Just we slushied the fat kid with glasses from Glee Club so hard maybe he ran back to his mommy" One of the Jocks joked while Spencer knew who they were talking about.
Roderick have been receiving a lot of slushies since he joined the Glee Club. He himself have been lucky enough not to get slushied himself as he was the school quarterback. He stood up taking a piece of towel from the locker and went to the only place that he thought a guy would go if you got slushied. He was right. He found Roderick in the bathroom desperately trying to remove the slushie.
"Need any help with that?" Spencer asked him. Roderick just kept cleaning it not even looking at him
"Hey, I'm talking to you" Spencer snapped and Roderick looked at him.
"I don't need your help ok. Now go back with your friends"
"I want to help you" Spencer explained to him
"I didn't asked you for your help ok. I don't even understand why are you even talking to me. Shouldn't you be celebrating with the douchebags in the locker room for slushing me?" Roderick said in an angry tone
"Why do you hate me so much? I don't understand"
"Because you remind me to every jerk that bullied me in my whole life! Someone like you won't understand me. You're perfect. You're popular." Roderick said to him
"You think my life is perfect? I am born into 10% of human population that would choose Andrew Garfield over Emma Stone. How is that even considered perfect?"
"Because you don't care admitting that you're gay. I cannot do those kind of things. Now please leave me alone"
"I want to…." Spencer didn't even finished his words when Roderick interrupted him.
"JUST GO DAMN IT! LEAVE ME ALONE!" Roderick snapped and Spencer slowly walked away leaving him. Roderick felt really bad for yelling at him at that moment but he was angry. He was tired of getting bullied every day.
That evening. School ends and everyone was on their way back to their homes. Spencer packed his bag and on his way out from the gym went he heard many voices just behind the gym. He quickly went to check it out and he saw his friends picking on a student. He didn't bothered to look at that matter at first but when he looked closely at the student. He could clearly tell who he was. He ran to him while yelling at his friends
"Guys! Cut it out! He had enough" Spencer said as his friends looked at him with a smirk and they left leaving the student lying there covered in dust. He rushed to help him
"Are you alright Roderick?" Spencer said as he helped him get up
"I'm fine. What are you doing here anyway? Shouldn't you be going home right now?" Roderick asked him
"I was training in the gym when I heard some noises outside"
"You should have left me and go home"
"And see you get bullied by the others. There's no way I'm letting that happen" Spencer said to him. Roderick looked at him while he said that
"But why? Aren't you embarrassed that you're hanging out with us Glee members?"
"Of course not. Did you forget that I am a Glee Club member too. Now let's get you clean up" Spencer said as he put's Roderick's arm on his shoulder
"I want to say sorry for earlier. I shouldn't have yelled at you like that" Roderick said regretfully
"No worries. I understand what you felt. I also felt like that when everyone started to call me gay but I learnt to accept it" Spencer said to him
"Thanks for helping me. No one has ever helped me before. Apart from the teachers and my parents"
"It's okay. That's what friends are for right and you have a lot of friends now" Spencer said and he smiled. Roderick started to like living in McKinley
