Hell Burns

Standing back she watched as the hungry flames reached toward the sky. Bellowing black smoke raising up to dissipate into the atmosphere. The large building began to crumble slowly as the fire ate away it's supports.

Smiling she looked down to the bundled infant in her arms. They were the only two to survive the blaze. Luck being on their side, seeing as she had started the fire. "We're safe now." she eased to the infant.

The look on her brothers face had been priceless when he'd found she'd locked off the elevators to the lower levels. When she'd opened every door and way out to those same levels. He'd screamed and cursed her. Until she had shut him up with a boot to the groin and a broken nose.

The building had been her play thing then. She'd been free to cover every inch she chose in gasoline. She'd then retrieved the infant and poured a trail of gasoline outside as she went. A safe distance away, it had only been a matter of striking a match and watching it burn.

Turning from the light of the fire she looked into the darkness of the night. The road in front of her was open with possibilities. She'd transferred all of the money from any account she'd had any control in and placed it all in accounts under different aliases. They would never want for a thing.

As a car stopped in front of her she leaned over to look in the window. Her smile spread wider when she saw the driver. "You know. When you called me five hours ago and said you were going to light the place up I thought I'd get here and you'd be riddled with bullets." he said as she slipped into the passenger seat.

Closing the door she laughed. "That should have been fun…" she conceded before having one last look at the fire. "… But that place was hell. It deserved to burn."

Chuckling he smiled "Where too?" questioned with a wicked smile.

Leaning back in the seat she closed her eyes. "Somewhere quiet with a beach and the ocean…" she began before her eyes popped open and she motioned to the ocean on the other side of the building. "…Not that one." she declared.

Laughing he hit the gas. "West coast it is!" he cried.
