Rabbit

Summary: A smart rabbit should've known to not approach neither the cat or the dog. Too bad this rabbit wasn't only smart, but also very daring. Compilation of side stories for Butterfly. [Shizuo/OC/Izaya]

Author's Note: I have the full right to blame on my friend Archie, for tempting me to make this. You know what, this has ZERO LINK to the actual Butterfly, even though the title is not even butterfly, but yes, it's just compilation of side stories, and random thoughts and ideas that can never be fit in Butterfly. Simply to calm your shipper soul, to be honest.

Calm down, I'm still typing in Butterfly atm, it'll take awhile for me to get inspiration for it; and this idea will never go away until I type it out soooo here it is, side stories, blah blah.

PS: Farfalla is from Indonesia, therefore she knows at least tiny bits about the soooo many cultures in her country.

THIS CHAPTER HAS NOT BEEN PROOF-READ JUST YET. THERE WILL BE MISTAKES IN GRAMMAR AND WHAT NOT.

Satu [Izaya/Farfalla]

"Usagi-chaaaan!" A hand reached forward to grab Farfalla's wrist, the woman's eyebrows ticking in slight annoyance while the informant had grinned, twirling her around as usual. It was Saturday, a day off for Farfalla. And ultimately, somehow a chosen day for Izaya to bother her. Really, though, she had somehow grown to expect Izaya to show up whenever and wherever he wanted, just to find her and bother her.

"What is it, Izaya?" She had to wonder when exactly she had grown accustomed to his way of talking, walking... Even when he released her wrist, he put his hands in his pockets and Farfalla watched. Staring, watching, looking at how the other moved, talked, acted- It almost seemed like a hobby now. Because Izaya was so peculiar; somehow interesting, despite his seemingly never-ending annoying aspects. It could be fun spending time with him, and it could almost feel like hell, too.

In which she decided it was the latter, in this very day, a few hours later.

"You can't be serious."

A half-hearted glare thrown at the man, who smiled innocently at him. ...Innocently. Yeah, right. While Izaya could, could pretend to be innocent, it was way too late to even put up a facade of being innocent by now, thanks to what he had done.

What had he had done, exactly? The man had dragged her to his apartment in Shinjuku, saying about how he had something to show to his dearest pet bunny and who was Farfalla to refuse? Even if she did, she'd still be dragged there anyway, with blackmail and other stuffs. Better comply, right? It wasn't like he would show anything harmful, right? Oh how wrong she was.

Izaya had turned on his computer and pulled her to his lap (she had to shove away the thought that it actually felt good sitting there... sort of). She thought Izaya was never the touchy feely person, and even though he'd grasp her wrist or hug her, it was merely as a way of teasing. No matter what, there would be this wall between them, preventing the Butterfly from actually acknowledging the true Orihara Izaya, and Farfalla was still far from breaking that wall, if she ever wanted to even do such thing.

Truth be told, even Izaya's current moves to let her sit on his lap and calmly circling his arms around her waist, were done just to make sure she didn't escape when he had done the deed. Even though maybe there was a high chance for Farfalla to not attempt to escape, because he made her accept a bet that if she ran away, she had to allow him kiss her. Kiss her. Of course, the thought was even too revolting for Farfalla who thought Izaya was too attractive for the eyes 24/7.

What deed, though?

This.

"It became popular lately, Usagi-chan," he sing-songed, clicking on a game shortcut on his desktop. "It was made in your country! Cool, eh? I bought this just for you, so you have to play it for me!"

"You've got to be kidding me, Izaya." Her tone was grave, already knowing what would be waiting for her in the next few moments. In fact, she already tried to squirm away from him and run far far away from this apartment as soon as possible. Fuck no. There was no way she'd do this thing. Nuh-uh. No way! The title of the game, Dread Out, seemed to glare at her, sending chills down her spine.

"But I'm not kidding you, Usagi-chan. Here, let's put your name here," typing the words Usagi into the username box, Izaya clicked new game, in which it soon started with a woman dressed in red, singing a song he had zero knowledge about (nor was he even interested in it in the first place). Though with how Farfalla had frozen in place the moment the song started, it seemed she knew what this song meant.

"Hey, Usagi-chan. What does this song mean? It has to have a meaning, right?"

"Wh- I don't know; I don't talk Javanese! Besides, why are you even curious anyway...? It's not even real."

"Don't be a party pooper, Usagi-chan," he pinched her sides, eliciting a satisfying (for him) gasp from the woman. "If a headless rider exists, other occult, supernatural things should've existed as well, don't you think? Do you know anything about it, then, hmm? This song, that is."

"..." Damn, he had a point. "...There are two myths about this song. It's whether this song... tells demons to come or... tells them to go away. I don't know, it's still creepy in general. You know, can I just don't play? I'm not okay with this stuff."

"Sure, but we'll have to kiss."

"..."

Grabbing the mouse, she started to play as Izaya snickered behind her.

Damn him.

There was a thing Izaya had to admit he liked when he watched Farfalla play the game. The first would be that she didn't scream in a high octave like how he'd hear girls scream these days. Well, she did scream, but perhaps she was so freaked out and hysterical that the scream turned into a soundless one, as if she was in the brink of unconsciousness.

The next one was that she still tried to look for the next moves, solving the puzzles, despite her actual fear for the ridiculous, horrid ghosts he saw on the screen. Really, he wanted to snort on how Farfalla bit her lips and stifle her gasp whenever a clattering or the sound of a woman came around. It was so very amusing, how this game could bring those sort of frightened expressions on her, while when she saw a headless woman, she didn't even shriek.

It was interesting to watch, at the very least. Especially after she was done, it was night time and she absolutely refused to go home by herself, nor she even wanted to be left alone. Izaya wanted to laugh, really, and laugh he did. The effect of the game for her was magnificent! Though he had an inkling that this would only last for a few days, a week or so, before she could be alone in the dark alley again and wouldn't even flinch.

And he was feeling particularly kind at the very moment, hence why he even allowed her to have a sleep over. Of course, it didn't erase the fact that he still loved seeing that expression on her. That was why he'd tip toe somewhere else in the apartment when she wasn't looking, and had his fun watching her silently panic while she searched for him. Because she didn't want to be left alone in his 'stupid, big and lonely apartment', or so she said.

How cute.

Maybe he should make Farfalla play more horror games.

EXTRA, a few days later:

"U-Um... Heiwajima-san?" Shizuo grunted in response, his attention drifting to the woman next to him. A frown marred his face, the bodyguard finding it a bit odd how he was worried that there were these slight dark circles under her eyes. Why was he even concerned in the first place? Perhaps it was because she had shown kindness to him, and he felt it was just right to how compassion to her in return.

"Can I... Can I go home with you tonight?"

Well, that question caught him off guard. Even Tom seemed surprised as he sipped on his coffee.

"To your apartment? Sure."

"N-No. To yours... I want to, um, sleep in your place tonight."

That caught him more off guard. Next to him, Tom choked on his coffee. Shizuo sent him a concerned gaze before it was back at Farfalla, who was biting her lips nervously.

"...Why?"

"Ah, well... I... couldn't sleep well these days and I... don't really wanna be alone for the night so... So I guess I need some company..." She trailed off. "A-Ah, but that doesn't mean you have to be sleeping with me! Just in the same room as me is alright, as long as I'm not alone in a single room, is all."

"..."

Her shoulders drooped. "...Ah, I guess you can't. Sorry, it was a bit sudden anyway," she smiled nervously, while Tom coughed awkwardly in the background, sipping on his coffee again.

"...Why me?"

"Ah? I just thought that I can trust Heiwajima-san, is all..."

"..."

"..."

"...Sure."

"Eh?"

"Sure. You can sleep with me tonight."

Tom choked on his coffee again. That sounded so wrong...!

"..Thank you, Heiwajima-san..!"

"Mmn."

Ah, Tom wanted to cry.
