They all stood breathless, their heads staring motionless as the purple sunset that seemed to be crashing slowly into the sea as if it was spilling from the horizon itself. Ash looked out in horror, as pods of Wailmer beached themselves on the rocky cliff face and flocks of Wingulls circled around the small island where he and the rest of the trainers stood.
Misty was the first one to run to run to the shore, followed by May and Dawn who drifted around the helpless giants that thrashed in the sand. Drew and Ash looked up at Wallace who was tearing up bitterly.
"What's happening!?" Drew shouted as the ground shifted violently.
"I don't know," Wallace said silently. Out in the distance Ash could just make out a lone dragonite soaring aimlessly toward him.
Puzzled Drew looked towards Ash, "I thought Dragonites only fly towards land when a storm front is coming."
"I can't see a cloud in the sky." He continued.
"That's just it, something's not right!" his voice trailed off as a gust of wind hit them, throwing sea spray into their faces.
"Ahh..." Ash cried as his Pikacu sprinted at lightning speed down to the shoreline.
The cliff face rocked viciously. Brock who was carrying Tracey emerged from the collapsing cave as a landslide hurtled across the entrance. By now the sun had set completely and all sense of twilight left the sky.
"What's going on Ash? Where's Misty!" Brock yelled almost drowned out by the imminent earthquake.
"I think it's a tremor!" Ash cried.
Then it started, snarling blue flames erupted from the ground, lightning the deep night sky in a ghostly navy light. Abruptly crowds of Lunatone flooded into the air. The group of Pokémon trainers shared worried glances at each other. Drew hugged May tightly around himself as the small island was almost swallowed whole by the impending coastline.
A hollow silence fell among the group.
"This is it guys..." Ash breathed.
Suddenly, a small silver rocket launched out from the blue flames that encircled the ground. For an almost endless thirty seconds, the space craft was lit bright red from its erupting tail, only to fade to black in an instant.
Another bout of silence swept the assembly of glum Pokémon trainers.
"It's over," sighed Drew as the last sparkle of space ship left the sky.
"They've got the Moon Plate, Arceus is under Team Galactica's complete control, we're finished."
