Paying the Price
She could feel the painful texture of sand beneath her, the smell of blood flooding her senses. He leaned again to capture her slightly swollen lips and she complied silently, their hands intertwined; gripping each other tightly. They looked at each other, finding words to say. It was very awkward though; she felt scared at him. She stared at his vivid eyes, shivering gently as she felt cold; his eyes were cold. It was unlike a while ago, when she stared at the same eyes she felt warmth and the feeling of being loved. His reassuring smile was changed into a dark smirk, a smirk he usually does whenever he felt like killing someone.
He started to talk about them. He was right; they were both damaged goods. She was a real shit since she was born; she never knew anything about her mother, she was manipulated by her father and was caged in a building for the rest of her life. She never felt love, until one day she met a humble watchmaker in the streets of New York. He was gentle, kind and alone, just like her. They were so wrong yet so right; for the first time, she made someone feel normal and he made her special at the same time. Yet she was ordered to make him kill another one of their kind. He was in the state of remorse and wanted to start a new life that time, and she was less than happy to know that they couldn't just leave him alone, let him be happy. Again, she took a wrong path; she shouldn't have let them trick him; manipulate him and see him kill. She should have been brave to fight for what's right. She created a monster; she created someone just like her, damaged.
Then they met again, and he had just killed her only family. He was telling her that she was the reason for all of this and she's already paying a heavy price. She was broken; she was alone, fired from her lifetime job, and was lost. She never knew that that sheer hatred of her to him will die away. She forgave him and he forgave her; it seems that those old feelings were rekindled that time in the exam room. She had never felt more happy and secured when she was with him. Everything was so flawless, running away with him and starting a new life would be a great idea. Yet something is still bothering her. She wanted to tell him the truth but she was too scared. Maybe if she'll tell him the truth he'll revert back to his old ways again, and he'll forget about her. So she had kept quiet, hoping that he may understand it a few years later.
But it was too late; he already knew. She lied again, thinking that he might believe her because he loved her. Wishing that he'll forget about it and run away with her; run away from everything. Now they lie on an empty place, him on top of her, he started to talk about himself; that he can never change. Then he caressed her weary yet beautiful face, his eyes staring at her, as If he was memorizing her every feature. She looked at him too, restraining her tears to fall as she half-smiled at him, trying to convince him that he changed and that he became good. Yet he never listened, it was all she had ever feared. His right hand left her cheek and he placed his fingers pointing towards her head. She closed her eyes slowly as she took her final glance of him. She will never fight because she thought she deserved it. She only winced as she felt an excruciating pressure that tore her skin apart, succumbing into tears once again.
She is going to pay her price, for the very last time.
I wish that never happened. :(, I totally miss Elle, she was one of my fave characters in the show. So what do you think of my fic? R&R!
