Well, this is my first one-shot. I hope you all like it I came up with it in the middle of my geography revision as a way to stop myself from going insane with boredoem so I dont know how good it is, hope you like it!

Yuuki could see the blood lust in his eyes. Literally. They glowed red. She only saw it out of the corner of her eye, it was like that every time. At first it had scared her, but now, in an odd way, she looked forward to it.

Not that she would ever tell Zero that. he would be disgusted if she did.

She felt his fangs leave her neck. He slumped forward slightly, resting his head on her shoulder. He was still tightly gripping her shoulder and his breathing was heavy.

Zero was ripping himself apart form the inside out. He craved blood now. He took more each time, despite the fact he was trying to control himself. Unfortunately, his inner demons didn't like that idea. And the more zero fought against his vampiric urges, the harder it was to control them. It was like this every time, and Yuuki hated it. But what could she do about it? She was certain she would never understand what he was going through, even in the slightest. The only thing she could do, stave off his craving for blood, was only a temporary solution. And it was probably making matters worse. She didn't drop the idea though. She had to do something.

She put her arms around his neck. rather than letting him drink her blood she didn't know what else to do. He unconsciously pulled her closer. He was still breathing heavily and his breath sent tingles down her spine. She inhaled his sent. There was the smell of her own blood and his own scent. Needless to say she was not scavenging after her own blood. Yuuki looked forward to these moments. Zero didn't let people get close to him. She was the closest person to him, she knew, and yet he still wouldn't let his barrier down. Except for this moment. This was the only time he did so. And so Yuuki treasured these moments.

At first she had convinced herself that it was out of 'sisterly affection'. but she soon came to the conclusion that was a pile of crap. She knew the reason she looked forward to these moments. She knew even more clearly as she inhaled his scent.

Zero put his barrier back up then. Her moment was over. He quickly pushed her away as always. She didn't mind. She had come to understand the way his mind worked since he had been taken in. Only in these moment would he let her get close. When he was sure there would be no-one else to notice. He only let his guard down for her, albeit grudgingly. Now the walls had to go back up

his scent still lingered on her clothes. It was part of the reason she looked forward to these moments, but it wasn't the real one.

The real reason?
She love Zero.

So? how was it? i wrote a sequel thing for it and ill put that up too. i hope everyone liked it, i thought it was a bit short since I've been typing chapters that are 2-300 words + for a while now in my D.Gray-Man fanfic. (if anyone reading this read it, No- I'm not abandoning it i promise! i just finished my exams an I'm typing the next chapter right after this! i just needed a change of scenery to get rid of my writers block! man di i hat writers bloc... Ack! ramble! anyway my first vampire knight fic an my first one-shot. How did i do?
