Hullo! This is a little poem through the eyes of Sam (after Frodo *cough*
"dies" in Shelob's lair) speaking to Frodo.....it's not my best work, but
it's my first fan fic poem!!!!! So I'm
proud......kinda......sorta.......maybe.......ahhh nevermind. Enjoy! ^_^

I Shall Return

Waiting in the darkness,
Alone I sit and cry.
How can it be that my beloved
has forever left and died?
I wish for you to spring to life,
I listen for your breath.
But the only sound that fills my ears
is the echoing silence of death.
Curse the wretched creature
that brought this upon you.
I slayed it with all the might I had,
with strength born anew.
My vision is consumed now
by those green, glowing eyes
that lured us into such false trust
and fed us endless lies.
Despite my pain and sorrow,
I know what must be done.
With a heavy heart I will continue
and dispose of the One.
I wipe the my tears with shaking hands
and take Isildur's Bane.
And as I kiss your gentle brow,
I hope we shall meet again.
So now I set off, with doubt,
into a land unknown.
The weight of the cruel, cold Ring
is that of unbreakable stone.
I gaze one final time
at your peaceful face.
I will always love you as my master,
throughout all time and space.
I make a silent vow
that I will never break,
and will fulfill it when I am done
with the journey I must take.
Through ice I will freeze,
through fire I will burn
I will do anything it takes.
I swear; I shall return.
