WELCOME KING JON HATERS! Thayet is beginning to have doubts about her husband, Jonathan of Conte. So, Alanna comes in and forms an idea to "kill" Jon. Warning: if you love Jon, don't read this. It insults him. A lot. (Or at least in later chapters)
Disclaimer: No, I do not own Tamora Pierce or anything that's hers.
Note: This happened after Kel defeated Blayce and his monsters. I don't think that there will be any romance. Sorry!
For the third time, Queen Thayet cursed under her breath. She had pricked with the needle again. "Milady, are you well?" a serving maid asked timidly. She was sewing, trying to be a proper housewife now and then. Thayet glared at her. It was clear that her thoughts were somewhere else.
Lately, she had been having some serious problems with her husband. She was starting to think that Jon was a conceited pig. No, that was an understatement. He was an idiotic, stupid, conceited pig.
There was a sharp rap on the door before it opened. Alanna of Pirate's Swoop practically charged in. She sat down and eyed the scraps of cloth disdainfully. "Your Highness, I didn't know you could sew!" she said in mock terror, the very picture of a perfect court lady about to swoon.
Thayet laughed lightly, but Alanna could tell that something was wrong. "Thayet," she said in a warning voice. Thayet sighed and poured out her troubles.
"Jon's been such an...idiot recently. Jon was sleeping when I told him that Blayce was defeated. He snored into my face." At this point, Alanna guffawed loudly. She immediately cleared her throat and quieted down when she saw clear disapproval on Thayet's face.
"Last night, when the epic of scarlet fever hit," she continued," millions of people needed medication. Jon ignored it, and said that it would be a waste of money. Doesn't he even care for his people?" She said angrily.
For once, Alanna nodded sympathetically, although she knew Thayet was not looking for sympathy. She knew how it felt, having experienced them as well.
"I swear, if he does one more thing like that, I will mentally kill him."
An idea sparked in Alanna's head. She grinned slyly. Thayet took one look at her and whispered, "That can never be good."
Love it? Hate it? I don't care. Review please! And don't kill me. This is my first fanfic. (Sorry, it's VERY short)
