Worthless

This is how Troy feels when his dad yells at him for making mistakes during basketball. I can easily relate to this because my dad is also my basketball coach and he expects a lot from me.

WORTHLESS

I do something

You say it's wrong

I do it again

You say it's a little better, but still wrong

What can I do

To prove to you

I can do something right?

It's kind of hard

To be perfect

If I make mistakes

Let me see them and learn from them

Don't point them out

And make me feel worthless

Don't yell when I don't do it right

Tell me in a calm voice

If I do it wrong

Let my teacher mark me down

Instead of you making me feel

Worthless and have my self-esteem go down

Let me mess up sometimes

Everyone has to make mistakes or else

We would never learn and improve

Don't make me feel worthless

Just let me know I did my best

Even if I didn't

If I didn't tell me,

"Next time try to improve a little."

Let my self-esteem soar to and above the sky

And not fall to the ground.
