Disclaimer: I don't own Fire Emblem, which is the BEST chess-like game in the world.
Pairing: Soren/Ike all the way.
Theme: Favorite word/s
Setting: Post Path of Radiance
A/N: I know I should be working on my Tales of Vesperia story, but I needed to get this out to distract myself. Chapter two is NOT being very kind to me right now.
"Soren!" called Ike as he ran toward the raven-haired man. Soren glanced back at his Commander, slowing his pace slightly. He was on his way to the royal library to do some research for Jill and Haar. They had called in a favor, telling him that they were thinking of doing a delivery service. Jill wasn't quite sure if they could and had asked if it had been done in the past.
The blue-haired man had finally caught up to the smaller one. A huge grin was plastered on his face, looking like a child in a candy shop.
"What do you need, Ike?" Soren asked, unsure if that was the wisest choice. A lot of things made the Commander grin, some stupid and others strange.
"Tell me what your favorite word is," he replied. The petite sage faltered slightly. He had most certainly not expected that response. Then again, everything about Ike was unexpected.
There was silence between them for a while. Soren was debating whether or not to give his Commander a serious answer. He decided it was easier to just be serious with it. Plus, Soren really wasn't in the mood for teasing Ike that day.
"I'll tell you mine only if you tell me yours," the smaller man temporized. Ike nodded in agreement, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
"Mine's 'tactics' mainly because it rolls off the tongue," Ike said with another grin. Soren raised an eyebrow, seeing the obvious hint. He smiled a little, but it was only there for a split second.
"Well, that's funny. Mine happens to be 'Ike' as it seems to bring me peace of mind," Soren retorted as he hurried off to the library. Okay, so he lied. He was always in the mood to tease Ike.
