Hymn of the Disgraced One

Tie-in with Destiny: Skyfall. We have all seen the face of the Taken King, the father of Crota. But what of the 'Disgraced One' mentioned by Eris Morn in Ch. VII? What signifigance does the Disgraced One have? From the archives of the Speaker, known only to the Vanguard and himself, only a piece of text about him/her is archived: a hymn written by the Disgraced One him/herself.

Hear my name, and thou shall be lost in the river of time.

Insult me, and thou shall be hunted.

See my face in thy Light, and thou shall be afraid.

Never bleed in the Dark, and thou shall be gifted.

Ache to live, and thou shall be a Knight.

Make my existence known, and thou shall be one of Us.

Enigmatic thou shall become, and I shall aide thou.

In time, thou shall know thy strength.

Silence me, and thou shall be killed by my flesh and blood.

Think of me as nothing less than a coward, and I shall crush thou.

Remember my name, and thou shall be without rest in the wilderness.

I am the Omega, the Yin, and the End of all.

Object my kin, and the Dark will smother thy Light.

Never plead for help, and thy strength will be your only ally.

Understand the Shadows, and thou are one of Us.

Savor the temptations of the Twilight, and they shall be yours.

Know my presence, and thou shall be cursed for thy life.

Fall by my blade, and thou shall not be remembered.

Fear me, and thy Light shall be poisoned by the Dark.

Betray my Children, and thou shall know their burning anger.

Oh, foolish ones of the Dawn, know this pain...

This curse of eternity shared by the ones of the Dusk, nothing more but a lie and bound to the river of time.

When We return, thou shall not surpass the eclipse that shall shroud all.

The Night has fallen.

And the Day will never see the Light.
