A Quick Bit of a Story
Joanna was your average tavern girl. There was nothing special about her, nothing different. She had a mother, a father (she thought) and a good, steady job. Her hair was light brown and pulled into a bun that was now coming undone. Her dress was the uniform: a simple dress with a neck cut a bit lower than she would have liked. She simply blended in.
Today-or rather, tonight- there was talk that someone somewhat famous was here. She wasn't sure whom, but all the other girls (in fact, every girl currently in the building) were running around frantically, trying to look their best.
Joanna really didn't know what was going on, and really didn't care. She wanted to do her job, get paid, and get out. Trying to be as polite as she could, she walked over to a table where two men sat. One man, with dreadlocks, a hat, reddish bandana, and things in his hair was making a gesture with his head that, to Joanna, made it look like he was in pain.
At the table, she put her hand on his shoulder and said, "Um, sir, are you all right?" In response, he looked at her liked she had grown another head, and she just walked away, embarrassed.
When she got back to the counter, her friend grabbed her arm and pointed at the man se had just spoken to. "Joanna, that's him."

I'm sorry if it isn't any good, I started it ages ago and just finished it today. Only after writing it did I realize it didn't make much sense. Ah, well. I wanted to have at least one story up.
