EDIT 7/05/09: O_O I'm alive? Wow. Who would have thought? Anyways, I deleted most of this story but left the first chapter because get this.......

I'm rewriting this story.

I'm actually thinking of rewriting ALL my stories because, in my opinion, they suck. I've grown up and learned a lot over the past few years. So, now its time to prove it. Now don't expect the rewrites to be up right away. I want to work on them to the best of my ability. So I hope you guys have stuck around. Lets how it goes this time around. :/

Title: He is Salt and You are the Wound

Chapter 1: Try saying no once in a while

"How about…..we'll be together when I decide to give up coffee."

"Give me some time and I could make that happen," he smirks confidently.

"Ha! You wish," she laughs.

"Come on. I don't get why you don't want us to be together. Why don't you want to be an 'us'?"

"You can't handle it."

"Yes, I can."

"No you can't. I'll just end up getting hurt." She declares.

"How?" He questions.

"One bat of her fake eyelashes and skanky smirk and you'll go back to her. One call and you'll go running. You'll hurt me," she repeats.

"So……what we're doing now doesn't hurt you?" he asks.

"Not at all."

"I don't believe you, liar."

"Would you be satisfied to know that you're breaking me?" she asks, already knowing the answer.

"I love you," He says, ignoring her question. He leans in and presses his lips on hers gently.

"Lying suits you." She breathes into his lips

"So I've heard." Suddenly his phone rings cause them to jump back. He quickly looks at the screen then swiftly turns it off.

"It's her isn't it?" He stays quiet. "She wants you back."

"I'm not going back this time." He tries to assure her.

"It' only a matter of time."

"Don't you trust me?"

"I trust that you'll go back to her." He hangs his head. "Aren't you tired of her walking all over you?"

"Aren't you tired of me walking all over you?" He asks before kissing her gently on her neck.

She answers meekly. "No."

"You deserve so much better than me."

"Nothing is better than you."

"Don't put me on a pedestal." He tells her, brushing her hair out of her eyes in order to look into her bright blue eyes.

"You know you enjoy it." She smirks, bringing her hand up to cradle his face.

"I take you for granted." He kisses her hand before letting it drop.

"Tell me something I don't know." She admits, looking at her lap.

"You should try saying no once in a while."

"I can't." She sighs and closes her eyes. "I love you."

"I love you too."

"How I would give anything for those words to come out of your mouth sincere." She says sadly.

"They can be. Just give me time."

She looks up at him sorely. "Don't get my hopes up just to drop them, Tristan."

He leans in to kiss her again. "Wouldn't think of it, Mary."
