Under the Stars
"Boomer, where are we going?!" Bubbles demanded as she was pulled in a random direction. She had no idea where her boyfriend was taking her, courtesy of the blindfold tied across her baby blue eyes. Boomer laughed.
"Don't worry, we're almost there." He said, squeezing her hands in his own. Bubbles pouted, eliciting another chuckle from her boyfriend. They were silent for a couple minutes, still walking, when Bubbles couldn't handle the silence anymore. She opened her mouth to ask again, when she felt lips brush her cheek and Boomer whispered in her ear.
"We're here." He said. The blindfold fell from her eyes and she blinked, adjusting her vision. Her face broke out into a wide smile. They were standing on the sandy shore of a crystalline lake, the full moon shining brightly and lighting up the night. The stars were clearly visible, and the sight took her breath away. She turned to look at Boomer. He was standing beside her, a calm look on his face.
"This is amazing!" She gushed, hugging him fiercely. He laughed and hugged her back, bending down to kiss her gently.
"Do you like it?" He asked, navy blue eyes dark as he looked down at her. She nodded, blonde hair swishing around her face.
"I love it." She confirmed. A toothy grin spread on his face.
"I thought you would." He kissed her nose, making her blush. "Happy Anniversary, Bubbles." He said, leaning his forehead against hers. Her fingers traced his face and his eyes closed as he smiled.
"Happy Anniversary, Boomer." She replied. Suddenly, Boomer's eyes opened and he stepped back. Bubbles looked at him, puzzled.
"May I have this dance?" He asked, smirking and holding out a hand. Bubbles laughed, a light and musical sound, which made Boomer's smirk widen. Bubbles dipped into a playful curtsy, placing her hand in his.
"Yes you may." She said. He pulled her closer and rested his hands on her waist as she wrapped her arms around his neck. The two smiled and shared a kiss.
"I love you, Bubbles." Boomer said quietly in her ear. Bubbles sighed with happiness, resting her head on his shoulder.
"I love you more, Boomer." She whispered, her breath tickling his neck. He chuckled.
"Not possible."
And the couple swayed to the music of the moon and stars.
