A/N: Thanks to BertaS who wrote a lovely drabble on the Severus Sighs yahoo group a little while ago about an older Harry and Severus still very much in love. This never would have occurred to me without that inspiration. Hope y'all like it! : )

He soothes the dying man, whispering endearments as he pets the shinning silvery-white hair. Memories and emotions flood his heart and mind. Hatred, indifference, grudging respect, friendship, affection, lust, love; the entire spectrum. The journey of a lifetime has brought them here.

"I love you." His voice is steady, his face dry; he speaks the words for the millionth and last time.

"I don't love you," comes the response, with a ghost of a smile.

"You're lying," warm and familiar, Harry's words comfort them both.

Severus' long-standing answer to his husband's teasing accusation takes his last breath.

"Yes... I am."
