"Happy Birthday Bella!" my momma had shouted as she rapped her arms around my shoulders and kissed my cheek. It was my sixth birthday and her, my father Charlie and I were sitting at the little round table with a small pink cake burning brightly in front of me, six baby blue candles flickered on top.
I beamed up at my parents feeling loved and cared for. I was turning six and nothing was going to rain on my special day. Or so I thought.
James POV
Anger boiled deep inside my heart and stomach as I walked, the closer I got to my destination the more confident I felt about the task at hand. Curled tightly in my fist was a match box containing 3 matches', that was all I would need to fulfill my mission.
Two years ago I had lived in this tiny soggy town of forks. My wife Victoria was in a very terrible condition. The only thing standing in my way of helping her get better was the money, we had none. The flat we lived in was rented and we were late on paying any of the bills. The only way to get money for medicine was to steal it, and that's what I did.
A year and ten months I was sentenced for armed robbery. Victoria died while I rotted away in prison. The only person I could blame now was chief Swan; he had been on patrol that day. Because of him my wife was dead and I had nothing. Nothing to lose, but he did. Revenge running in my blood and I was ready to take everything from him just as he had done from me.
I had done my research; it was his only daughter's birthday today. Sweet child she was, with her brown locks and cheeky grin. I had watched her play at the park while her mother sat reading on the bench.
The double story house got closer and I picked up my pace. Coming up toward the little window I looked inside, the scene I witnessed was pleasant. Little Isabella sitting at the table with her mother and father staring loving down on her.
"Happy birthday Bella!" her mother said kissing her. I had seen enough, I strode around the side of the house and over to there back door. I tested it, unlocked, as I knew it would be. I opened it quietly and walked in. their back door was connected to their laundry so naturally this was where I would start the blaze.
I took a match out and stuck it as noiselessly as I could; it sparked and caught up in a tiny orange flame. I threw it onto the open washing hamper. Then I stuck the last two, throwing one into the washing machine and the last I held under a lace curtain that covered the only window in the room. It all sparked a blaze quickly. It was time to hide, I slide soundlessly out the door and went to wait out as the rest of my plan unfolded…
What do you think? It gets better I promise. Please review if you like it.
