Okay everyone, this is the new prologue for Naruto's Journey. It's not really that long, but I wanted to gauge reactions to what I've done so far. It will probably be another week or two at the soonest for the next chapter so you all have plenty of time to give me feedback, preferably the helpful kind.
I've always seen writers putting a legal disclaimer at the beginning of every chapter and I've never really understood why, but I guess I'll do the same this once
I don't own Naruto or Bleach. I own my OC's and the concepts behind my original Zanpakuto, though not the concept of the Zanpakuto itself.
I hope that made someone happy...
Now, without further ado, the story
General P.O.V
Suffice to say, Minato Namikaze is not having a good day.
To start off, his wife had gone into labor a week early, pregnant with triplets. While they were being delivered a strange man wearing a mask and a hooded robe somehow infiltrated the barrier around them and easily killed the Anbu guards. Then the masked man takes his first born, his only son, hostage and puts explosive tags on his blanket before tossing him into the air.
Then his wife is taken hostage for the Nine Tailed Demon Fox sealed inside of her, and his two newborn daughters are left completely alone in the room they'd been born. It had taken several teleportation seals to accomplish his next great task.
He fought with and defeated the masked man, though with considerable difficulty, and was faced with an important decision. He could either try to seal the fox back into his wife and possibly kill her from the shock, or he could seal it into his children and subject them to a possible life of misery and suffering.
And that was just his morning and afternoon…
He'd sealed the majority of the fox's chakra into his two daughters, sealing the residual chakra into his son. The medical team had been able to stabilize Kushina to a non-critical state, though she was still under intensive observation in the hospital, which had escaped unscathed.
And now, instead of being with his wife, he is in the council meeting room, his three newborn children somehow sleeping soundly through the clamor of the 'discussion' that is taking place.
"We should rid ourselves of the demon now before it has the chance to escape again!"A one-armed civilian, a former samurai, exclaims
The man doesn't flinch under the glare of the Hokage.
"While I have always respected your opinion Takeru-san, this is a matter for the Shinobi Council to decide as it requires a more intimate knowledge of Fuinjutsu. In the meantime I urge the Civilian Council to think about the future reconstruction efforts we need to make."Minato says calmly
The man opens his mouth to argue, but seems to think better of it.
"Minato, I believe we as the Shinobi Council are in agreement that our three new Jinchuriki will remain alive, though we also hope that there will be measures taken to help them master their power before it overtakes them, for the safety of Konoha."Hiruzen Sarutobi, the retired Third Hokage, explains
"I agree, and I will see to these measures personally when we are no longer in a state of emergency. Moving on, what are the casualties?"Minato replies
"We have lost approximately thirty five percent of our total force. The young Shinobi were kept away from the fighting so that saved us a large number of our total forces. I believe the heaviest casualties were sustained by the Tamura Clan, and I would like to extend my gratitude to all those who remain. Without you we would have lost many more good men and women."Shikaku Nara reports, and there are murmurs of assent directed toward a man with blood red hair and clothes stained in matching colors.
"We managed to restrict the Biju's movements and use our unique skills at several seemingly key moments, but I don't believe we deserve all the thanks you are giving us."The man responds
"Yes, but the beast knew enough to target your groups more than others, and you were always among the front ranks, even going so far as to attack directly, so we thank you for your clan's sacrifice Kazashi-san."Minato replies, and finally the man nods, his hand brushing against the black wrapped hilt of the katana at his side
"Now, onto the business of village reconstruction…"Minato says, and from his expression you can tell that he would rather be fighting the Nine Tails again.
Well, that was it. It's just supposed to provide background information for the rest of the story so it really doesn't need to be long.
Kazashi Tamura- Head of the Tamura Clan of Konoha. Not going to be a truly main character, but I have one OC that I will introduce next chapter that will be sharing Naruto's spotlight this time around as I find it easier now to write from the point of view of an OC.
Feedback is welcome. If I don't know what you guys think the story it may just turn out like last time when I tapped out of inspiration and left for two years.
