I Don't Want You to Fight

A/N: Takes place during episode 9 Excalibur, I always thought there should have been something more to the scene between Morgana and Arthur

"I don't want you to fight."

"I have to do this."

"I understand." Morgana replied, but as she turned to leave she stopped. She had forseen what could possibly happen to Arthur, and if this was the last time she would speak with him she could not leave things as they were.

While Morgana debated on what she should do Arthur noticed she had not left and turned towards her, away from the black knight and his vigil. He noticed that Morgana suddenly had a look of determination upon her face, and was about to ask her why she was still in his room when she suddenly kissed him.

It took him by surprise, but after a moment's pause he returned her kiss with passion. As Morgana stepped away Arthur spoke."I hope you didn't do that thinking it would change my mind, I can't back out of this fight, not for you, not for anyone," he said looking at her earnestly.

"I love you Arthur Pendragon," Morgana said as she moved closer and took his face in her hands, "and I needed you to know before your fight tomorrow, but I won't try to keep you from this battle."

As she turned to leave Arthur stopped her and said, "I love you as well Morgana. Keep faith, I promise you I will survive," and with one last kiss he watched as she left the room.

Soon after Gaius came in and gave Arthur a sleeping draught to help him fall asleep.

As Arthur left the hall after talking with his father he immediately set out for Morgana's chambers. After he knocked Gwen opened the door, and after looking towards Morgana she stepped out into the hall.

Arthur walked over and sat down on the bed next to Morgana and waited for the words to come to him, however she beat him to it. "I meant what I said Arthur," she said as she turned to him with a smile on her face, "it really wasn't a ploy to keep you from fighting, though as it turns out I needn't have worried, Uther took care of that," she finished playfully.

Somewhat indignantly Arthur replied, "I'll have you know I could have taken him easily Morgana, without my father's intervention, and regardless, I did keep my promise," he finished with a smirk.

"That you did," Morgana agreed as she leaned forward and captured his lips.
