The Legend of the 'Mon: The Journey Continues
(Each chapter, with time, will have a dramatic reading of it posted on YouTube and linked here. Credits for voices will be updated to reflect that as well. Enjoy!)
Arrival in Aspertia
It was definitely a good thing that we had decided to fly, and that it was with Latias, as opposed to another Pokémon. One, I don't think that another Pokémon could've made the journey from one region to another non-stop, nor could they've kept me on their back when I fell asleep. All Latias had to do was use Psychic, and I was kept firmly in place as she flew.
I had fallen asleep around noon or so, and by the time I had woken, at her call, the full moon had risen. The wind was a dull roar all around me as I shivered, the wind chilling me almost to the bone.
'Are we there yet?'
'Almost. It should only be another hour or two at the most.'
'How can you even see? It's so dark!'
'The moon guides me…Cresselia is at her strongest now, and thus I am easily able to fly at night. It would be if it were the time of the darkened moon that I would dare not fly at night.'
'I'll ask you to explain that later…'
I heard her laugh in my head, and smiled. I closed my eyes and soon went back to sleep for the remainder of the flight. The sensation of coldness passed me by, as my mind somehow simply ignored it.
When I next awoke, I could see a landmass in the distance.
'Is that it? Is that the Unova region?'
'Yes, it is. We are coming up on the southwestern edge of it now. I'm going to land near the outskirts of Aspertia City. It's known as, and I quote 'A city that reaches for the sky'. That makes one think that it would be Flying-type based. It's not. Instead, the first gym of the Unova region, located in Aspertia itself, is run by a young man named Cheren. He uses Normal-type Pokémon. When we get there, I'll have to cloak, as I'm not exactly all that well-known here, for obvious reasons.'
I nodded in agreement.
'Makes sense.'
I could soon see the city Latias was telling me about, and I was impressed by how advanced it was, for being the home of only the first Gym. But then again, there was Rustboro City… She descended, and then came to a slow stop about a quarter-mile or so outside of the town. I got off of her back, somehow not having any stiffness, despite having been on her back for at least nine hours. I smiled, and hugged her.
'Thank you Latias.'
She twitched a few muscles, and completely disappeared from view, using her ability to cloak herself.
'Just remember… If I'm nearby, you'll be able to feel my presence in your head. If not, and you need or desire me to be where you are, just play my song.'
'Understood.'
I laughed again, and hugged her once more…or tried to. I failed miserably. She de-cloaked once more to let me hug her, and then she re-cloaked, and flew away. As I entered Aspertia City, I looked around, trying to find somewhere to wait out the rest of the night. I found an empty park bench and stretched out on it, closing my eyes and relaxing.
