It was the 31st of august 1981, I'm lily Evans and this is how I died.
Earlier that day Sirius and Remus came around for lunch, everyone has been on edge lately, lunch was great Sirius was his chirpy self and Remus was happy. They left at around 2:00 o'clock we all hugged each other but I noticed that Sirius had in his eye, I watched it was like slow motion the second it hit the ground I saw a flash of green. That was the last time I ever saw them.
Later that night James I and harry where sitting down at our sofa and James was telling me about he was going to do tomorrow, he said 'I'm going to Dumbledore i need to ask him something' he never said what it was. I thought maybe he was scared he'd never admit it but i think he is. James will always be the arrogant strong boy that I met in Hogwarts. But i was pulled out of my day dream by the noise of the front gate slamming. James ran to see what it was and came back a second latter saying 'it's him' I knew what he meant.
''Take harry and run I'll hold him off' he said I ran up and kissed him, i knew it would be the last time. He told me he loved me we started to cry. He told me to go we looked at each other one last time. I ran over to harry and took him up to his room; I couldn't apparate because voldermort has surrounded the house with charms. Down stairs I heard the dark lord's cruel laugh and i heard James say "not my family" and then voldermort was making his way up the stairs.
I knew James was dead. I turned to harry and performed a spell that James had told me about only yesterday. He told me that it was very old magic. Harry stopped crying and i think he sensed something was wrong.
I heard voldermort enter the room, I whipped around making sure I was in front of harry. The Dark lord said "move aside" I pleaded with him to kill me instead I wouldn't move. I knew what was happening before Voldermort did it; memory's kept flooding through my head. All the times i rejected James, the day we got married, the day harry was born and now.
Then one tear ran down my cheek and as it hit the ground I saw the green light and i felt the life leave me, the next thing I saw was James's smile once again.
