Disclaimer: As cool as it would be to own Sonny with a Chance, I can't say that I do. I could imply it, but then I'd be a liar. So I'm just gonna come out and say it. I don't own Sonny with a Chance.

Okay, so after the fabulous Sonny with a Secret, I was put in the mood to write a one shot. But then I listened to Selena Gomez's song The Way I Loved You (amazing song, btw) and now I want it to be a little bit more like poetry. So here we go! AND I'D JUST LIKE TO APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE FOR THE F-BOMB USED. IT JUST SEEMED TO FIT.

The Light In Her Eyes

He longs to see her l a u g h again.

Because god, how he loved that laugh.

He never wants to see her c-r-y again.

The tears empty out his heart too.

He longs to hold her, to tell her that everything will be o k a y,

Because now HE'S there.

But he can't.

The light in her e y e s burned so brightly before.

But he was stupid back then;

And he watched as that flame became dimmer and dimmer.

(Until one day it burned out.)

That day, he remembered it so clearly.

He told her he l i k e d her.

Because he was too afraid to say love.

And her eyes s-p-a-r-k-l-e-d with joy.

(But he broke her.)

And now he can't be forgiven.

But what's worse,

[Is that he doesn't know how to forgive himself.]

He watches as the v a c a n t studio sits in the darkness.

{He can almost see her there again.}

He hears her laughter,

S-e-e-s her smile,

and it's all too much.

He remembers their first date.

(She overflowed with happiness that night at the park.)

He remembers the day they b r o k e u p.

"You're worthless, Chad!"

(Yeah, well he'd told her he wished he'd never met her.)

And now she was g o n e.

Her tears sounded in the rain.

Her laugh echoed in the wind.

She whispered to him in the fog.

And it's all too m u c h.

[He wishes he'd never told her to walk h-o-m-e.]

He should've sucked up his pride and driven her.

Maybe then she'd still be here.

He drives to Lookout Mountain.

The s t a r s remind him of her.

(He wonders if she's one of them now.)

She shone brighter than the rest.

Especially her e-y-e-s.

And he l o v e d that about her.

She had always told him to reach for the stars.

So he did.

He closed his eyes and whispered those three w o r d s.

'I love you.'

{And he hoped that wherever she was, she had heard it.}

When she had broken up with him,

That little light in her e y e s,

The light he loved so fucking much.

It burned o-u-t.

And so did his spirit.

So Chad watches, and w a i t s,

For something,

Anything,

To happen.

(But nothing does.)

He hears a whisper in the wind.

It sounds like H E R.

Sonny.

'I love you.'

[But he's not sure if it actually did happen.]

And god, he misses her so frickin' much.

So let this be a lesson.

Think before you speak.

Because s-o-m-e-d-a-y,

You just might lose the one you care about most.

Alright, you guys. Tell me what you thought! And, once again. I apologize for the f-bomb. I wouldn't have used it if anything else fit. I don't swear in real life. Like, at all. Even ask muffalo829. But freakin or frickin just didn't cut it. Anyway, sorry again, and I hoped you like this. I really like this style of writing when others use it, so I hope I did it justice. SMILES!

LOL
