Inexorable Hate
----------
It wasn't supposed to be like this. He wasn't supposed to be this angry. He was supposed to be happy, bubbly Sora, without a fucking care in the world. He was supposed to smile and laugh all the time; he was never meant to be so vehemently furious and hateful. But with every Heartless, with every shadow he passed, his rage and irritation only doubled. So he thrashed every one of those wisps of darkness that dared to come anywhere near him, glowering down at them all.
As the last of those Heartless evaporated into black smoke, he continued to glare vindictively at the spot where the final one had stood before he'd rammed the Keyblade through it.
Just slash right through them, those fucking little Heartless, he'd told himself countless times. They were the source of all his infuriation, all of his grief. They stole him away from his perfect life on Destiny Islands, so he'd rip them apart, pierce through every single one of them. They deserved it. "It's all your fault," he spat out with disgust. He'd long convinced himself of that. He continued to scowl at the empty space previously occupied by a Heartless, conjuring up every particle of contempt in his body. They'd hurt Kairi and Riku, that alone was enough reason for him to despise their very existence. He turned on his heel, snarling, and stomped away into the darkness, leaving Goofy and Donald behind.
The memories of being torn away from Riku and Kairi, of being unable to help them began to wash over him as he trudged deeper and deeper into the night. He was helpless when the storm hit and the Heartless swarmed over his precious islands. What good was being a Goddamn Keyblade Master if he still couldn't protect anything he loved?
He loathed the Heartless for taking Riku and Kairi away, but he cursed himself for not being able to do a fucking thing to stop them. It was their fault, and he'd never forgive them. But it was his fault too, and he'd never forgive himself either. Every Heartless that he pounded into nothingness in the hopes of bringing Riku and Kairi back only supplemented his animosity, and the greater his repulsion grew, the more the shadows in his heart ebbed at the light keeping him sane. But he always ignored the darkness, choosing to focus on saving Riku and Kairi.
And so he'd continue to slash every single Heartless that came his way until they were back, even if the darkness ate him up. Because maybe that might just bring them back to him.
So... That's that. Review? Please?
