"Pipiki scared, Mama! Pipiki no want go sleep!" Pipiki, a young nopon begged.
"Come now, Pipiki, nothing scary here! Now go sleep," Pipiki's Mamapon replied.
"Can Mama no hear it? The noises from below? It scary ghost! That what Kuriku say!"
"Now now, littlepon, no worry about ghost! Now go sleep!"
"But Mama!"
"Sleep!"
The frustated Mamapon turned off Pipiki's Pollen Lamp and left the room. Pipiki wrapped his blanket tightly around him and covered his closed his eyes and tried not to think of the ghost. Then the ghost began to growl.
"Aah!" Pipiki cried.
Pipiki shivered, and pulled his blanket tighter.
"Leave Pipiki alone!" Pipiki pleaded.
After around an hour of shaking, covering ears and generally being scared, Pipiki eventually got some sleep. It was a week-end, so Pipiki was happy not to be at school. But today, instead of playing with his friends, he would get rid of the ghost! He would get help! So, with permission from his Mamapon, Pipiki began his walk up Frontier Village. After a little while, Pipiki finally arrived. He knocked on the door. Hopefully he would help?
A kind pink Nopon opened the door. Pipiki explained what he needed, and the pink Nopon closed the door, telling Pipiki to wait for a minute. Pipiki sat down. He took out one of his day-time snacks and gobbled it up in one go. After a little wait, the door opened.
"Heropon!" Pipiki exclaimed.
"Hello, Pipiki. What is wrong?" Riki, the Heropon, asked.
"There ghost under house! It very scary! Only Heropon can get rid of it!"
"Ghost?" Riki hesitated for a moment, "Uh, um, no problem! Nothing beat Heropon!"
"Yay!" Pipiki cheered. "We do tonight, yes? At Central Plaza?"
"OK, Pipiki, Heropon be there!"
Riki waved goodbye, and retreated into his house, while Pipiki headed down to the reservoir to play.
"Is Pipiki ready to get ghost?" Riki asked when Pipiki approached the Central Plaza.
"Pipiki ready!"
"Then let's go!"
The two nopon creeped quietly down the steps leading to the Underground Store. Suddenly, a loud "Hrroooaaar" erupted from below.
"Aah!" Pipiki jumped. "Did Heropon hear that?"
Pipiki turned around.
"Heropon?"
Shivering and shaking behind a box, Riki hid.
"Heropon! We catch ghost!"
With around ten minutes of begging and two night-time snacks, Riki eventually plucked up the courage to venture downstairs. Pipiki and Riki slowly sneaked down the steps, trying not to disturb the ghost. They reached the bottom of the steps.
"Now, RIki go look inside!" Pipiki ordered.
"Me? But what about ghost?" Riki complained.
"You Heropon! 'Nothing beat Heropon!'"
Reluctantly, Riki stepped inside the storage room.
"Hroooohhh!" the ghost wailed.
"Gah!" Riki cried. "Heropon beaten! Gah!"
The Legendary Heropon ran out of the storage room and made as much distance between the ghost and himself as possible.
"Riki! Come back!" Pipiki shouted.
Pipiki sighed, he's have to get rid of the ghost himself.
He peered around the corner. No ghost! And then...
"Hrraaagggh," a Nopon coughed.
"Tati?" Pipiki said in surprise.
Not a ghost, but Tati stood in the underground store.
"Oh, hello young Pipiki, shouldn't you be asleep?"
"I thought there were ghost here, but it you!" Pipiki explained.
"I try to sing, but I cough! It very bad!" Tati apologised.
"It OK Tati, now I know it not ghost, I can sleep,"
Pipiki waved Tati goodbye, and returned home. Riki, however, was not aware of the fact that it was Tati's bad throat making the noise, and not a ghost. So while Pipiki had a good night's sleep, Riki was up all night, worrying and frightened.
