There was something about Kurt... something that Blaine couldn't put his fingers on. The guy always amazed him in many ways, he was always so full of surprises. That time when Blaine had realized that he had fallen for Kurt – when he had been singing Blackbird, he had asked himself "Why now? How couldn't I fall for him before now?" Maybe he had, but hadn't really realized it. Either way, they finally had each other, and that was all Blaine could ask for.
While Kurt had been in New York, nothing had really been the same. Blaine had missed him, he had felt a certain emptiness, a certain need. And that was Kurt. And now he was there in front of him again, talking about his trip to New York, and Blaine took in every word his boyfriend uttered. He listened, and he smiled, as he felt that proud, swelling sensation erupt within him. And then the words just came out automatically.
"I love you."
For a short moment, Kurt was almost certain that he had just imagined those three words coming from Blaine. He caught his breath, and felt how hard his heart was hammering against his chest. His eyes met Blaine's, and he could see it. The words were in his eyes, in his smile... the way he was looking at Kurt. They were there, even without the verbal declaration. And Kurt knew it.
And it was enough for the whole world to stop for just a short moment for Kurt. This was what bliss felt like.
He didn't know for how long he was holding in that breath, but once he finally let it out, it came out with the same words Blaine had given him. Saying them made him feel light headed, but it was in a good way.
It was pure bliss.
