Rapunzel stared at her bedroom window; water was streaming down the pane from the heavy rainpour outside. Frankly, she was disappointed that it rained because she had planned so many things that needed to be done outside. But now, all she can do was wait for the storm to pass. She let out a small sigh and turned her attention to her husband instead. Eugene was at the study desk, reading all the things required to be a competent prince of Corona. His face was scrunched up in frustration at the amount of reading materials he had to memorize and every few minutes he groaned or smashed his head on the desk.
Rapunzel felt slightly cold from the rain; she shivered and hugged herself while rubbed her arms to try and heat herself up. When that didn't seem to work, she walked up towards Eugene, took his right hand and tugged him up. He stopped his work, looked at where their hands touched and stood up smiling at her. The second he got up she put her arms around his chest, as far as they can go and buried her face in his chest. He was taken aback by her actions for a moment, but soon recovered and put his hands at her back, rubbing small circles. "Hey, everything ok?" he asked her softly. "You're so warm," she replied as a whisper. He only smiled at that and continued holding her. They stayed in each other's embrace, neither spoke up as they stayed in companiable silence.
Then she took his left hand and positioned it at her waist and placed her right hand on his shoulder. She took his other hand and held it apart to their sides and they slowly started moving their feet and swaying their bodies to the pitter-patter of raindrops on the window pane, all the while looking into each others' eyes and never breaking eye contact. See, this is one of the many reasons why Eugene Fitzherbert was so in love with the princess. There is no end to the things that she wanted to do and she always managed to surprise him in some way.
They continued dancing slowly, with him occasionally spinning her, and every time elicited a small giggle from her. Their hands also changed positions to both of her hands placed flat on his chest and his hands circled around her waist. Finally the rain stopped and they ended their dance with a small kiss. And with that, they both knew how much they loved each other with all their hearts.
