Amazing, Because It Is
And she didn't need his had to hold hers, she walked down the aisle. She wanted his eyes to swallow up that gaze he burned her face with, and she wanted that mouth to take back those words.
She couldn't.
He had to be there.
She couldn't stop, her feet led her further and those steps of hers brought that smile to another point on that beaming face - someone was waiting for her. Someone she couldn't let down.
A hand was clapped down on his shoulder and she swallowed as her eyes followed the large, manly hand up it's black suit clad arm, to a pale, sickly face that probed hers with steely grey eyes, that really seemed to care.
And the guests seated smiled and remarked to each other while she silently had a baby - the bride was beautiful, the groom so adorably glad, good that this one wasn't one of those modern runaway brides - they chuckled.
"I'm addcited." She stopped and her big brown eyes came to rest on the beige carpet beneath her.
Amazing grace. How sweet the sound.
She knew now.
She was needy and lost withot him. She was clingy with him, she was troubled at night without him, she was harsh with him.
I once was lost. But now i'm found.
Was blind but now I see.
She had realised, and it echoed in her ears, blocking out the hushed whispers and the furious retorts and the...the slow reassurance the Best Man gave to the groom.
She was shaking and the bouquet fell from her hands to the floor.
She pulled the veil off her head and shurgged out of her reverie.
How sweet the sound.
She looked up to his worried, doubtful face and silently apologized with the only window to her soul at that moment - her eyes. And the boy she needed, the fear that drove her and the heart that beat with her own, the love she sipped at night and remembered in the evening, the cherry ripe of her life - his blankness -
But now i'm found.
Lead her on.
She stepped forward after what seemed like an eternity for everyone around her but she didn't dare care about them, because then this whole dramatic stop in the aisle of her future would have been for nothing, right?
So she ran and he grinned.
That saves a wretch like me
"Draco," she breathed into his ear as he let her cling on to him. He closed his eyes and inhaled the scent that he would soon grow to know -
He let the moment be registered into him.
And she let him kiss her.
After all, who could stop them?
He was a boy, she was a girl. They were in love, in the midst of a cruel world.
A world that didn't stop them- didn't get to them.
How sweet the sound.
Amazing, Because It Is.
A/N: I was listening to Amazing Because It Is, by The Almost when a wedding scene popped into my head. The song is really great, kind of cliche - just like this drabble, but great nevertheless. I can't help feeling this lacks a big something - but hell with it, you know?
