This is written before the S-class trial on Tenrou Island. But, in the story, Lucy's father had already passed away. On a different note, this is my very very very first fanfiction! I hope you enjoy this, for I love Nalu and Gruvia and Gajevy and Jerza and all the other ships! Please enjoy and look for my future works! ;-)
Lucy glanced at her left hand, still in denial over what happened almost half an hour ago. But it happened, because the ring was still on her finger. The exquisite dinner at the best restaurant in town, all while Natsu was sweaty and pale throughout the dinner, even when there was food. She should've known something was up. He waited till she was done with her dessert before ceremonially rising from his chair, and falling to one knee. He asked her that one question she never thought he would ever say to anyone.
"Lucy Heartfilia, will you do the honor of becoming my wife?" Natsu stated quite seriously , but his eyes showed everything he would give her if she said yes. "I knew you for several years before we started dating, and we've been dating for only six months, but it just feels like it was meant to be. I promise to love and cherish you forever." he proclaimed, with eyes filled with hope.
"Natsu, you should know I can't resist you. So . . . .yes, I will marry you." Lucy said with eyes brimming with tears.
"Luce, why are you crying? Did I do something wrong? I'm so sorry if I-",his sentence quickly interrupted by Lucy's index finger.
"You did nothing wrong. It's just . . . .My father is dead, who will walk me down the aisle?"She asked while tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Igneel will, I know he will."Natsu said, not wanting to see his bride-to-be crying.
"Natsu, do you even know where Igneel is? How can he walk me down the aisle if we don't even know where he is?"She said defeated.
"Then we'll find him."
"Okay, we'll find Igneel."
"That's the spirit. So, what are you waiting for, let's go find him!"Natsu was about to explode from pure joy. Not only does he gets to marry Lucy, he gets her help in finding Igneel. Then once he finds him, he'll be perfectly happy for the rest of his life.
So here she was with her fiance on the train. Natsu. She still was amazed he could propose to her. She was excited he did, and she was expecting him to, but, she had never thought about it in depth. That stupid song from elementary school kept running through her head.
Natsu and Lucy sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love, then comes marriage! Then comes a baby in the baby carriage!
I mean she could picture herself with Natsu for the rest of her life. But having kids with him was a little . . . . . unthinkable. She just couldn't imagine him with toddlers climbing all over him saying, "Da da!" Then him sending them off to Igneel if they wanted to learn Dragon Slayer magic, or them staying home with her to learn Celestial Spirit magic. Now that she thought about it, what would their kids look like? They would have her good looks, with Natsu's odd pink hair and their combined flair and love of magic. What would their names be? Maybe Layla, after her mother, or Artemis or Ly-
Suddenly she was ripped from her daydream by the sounds of her soon-to-be-husband gagging and looking like he would vomit."Oh God! Natsu, don't you dare! She leaped into action, opening the window, shoving his head through and pointing the puke-cannon at the ground, hoping not to get any of his extensive lunch on the side of the train. A stewardess happened to walk by, and was quite perplexed by the scene unfolding. A blond woman was shoving a guy's head out the window. She walked closer, trying to understand the scene when the woman said,"He gets motion sickness pretty bad. I was saving you from having to clean up the mess."She was absorbed in her task and she saw that she was rubbing his mop of pink hair quite fondly."We're engaged. He proposed yesterday."
"Well, congratulations. But, are you sure he's a keeper? I man traveling with him must be quite a pain."She thought they really must love each other.
"Yeah, I know it's weird, but I've done this for two or three years now. And I know he's The One."Lucy said with a smile on her would have to face the problems as they came.
Natsu stumbled off the train, his face more green than forest leaves. They were in Oak Town, another town in Fiore. They were here to see a wizard who could possibly locate made their way through town with Natsu back to his old self, drooling over food and trying to stop at every restaurant they passed."Come on, Luce! I need food!
"Natsu for the last time! I'm not spending my hard-earned cash for you to stuff your mouth. Why don't you buy any matches for a snack?!"Lucy said, regreting her desicion to marry him for a fleeting instant.
"Match fire tastes like sulphur. It's almost as bad as Edolas fire."
"How was I supposed to know! I don't eat fire, Pyro!
"Luce you need to calm do-"
"DON'T YOU DARE TELL ME TO CALM DOWN, OR I WILL TELL ERZA!"
"Lucy, I'm sorry, maybe I don't deserve you."
"Don't say that, you're the only person I could ever love!"
"Weren't trying to save to relationship a few minutes ago."
"Well, at least I tried!"She heard herself sound like Edolas Lucy.
"Maybe you should do that in bed." he said quietly. Unfortunately for him, Lucy's ears were as sharp as a screamed LUCY KICK! to the winds, and followed through with her deadly move.
They finally arrived at the wizard's house.
"Hello, anyone home? Its Lucy Heartfilia, we scheduled an appointment."
"Yeah, I hear yeh'." An old yet tall woman sauntered out, with a load of sass. "Boy, why are you lookin' for a dragon, didn't your mama teach you better?" She just glared at him, waiting for an answer."Boy, I ain't gettin' any younger. So spill the beans!"
"Igneel practiclly raised me. And I need to talk to him." He looked like Erza had just caught him and Gray fighting. He was afraid of her . . .That was hilarous.
"Boy, I understand that you want to find your dragon, but you can handle this by yourself. You're a strong boy, you don't need her help! Now give me your scarf."
"NO! It's my scarf!"
"I need it to find your dragon, boy.
"Oh."
Now they were sitting on the old lady's couch in her living room. Natsu missed his scarf. Lucy could tell. He was rubbing his neck where the scarf should be, and there was a red spot. She had never realized how much he touched that scarf. She gradually began scooting closer, and closer until she could rest her head on his was so warm and cuddly. He suddenly threw his arms around her and pulled her flush against him.
"You know, Lucy, you make a good replacement for my scarf, no, you make a better replacement."Natsu said with a ghost of a smile on his lips.
"So, you're telling me that I can replace a pice of fab-"
"I found your dragon, boy."
