Betty found an empty bit of paper lying on her desk and started scribbling down an idea that had been swimming around her head all day:
GIOVANNI ROSSI
Gio Rossi, you own my heart,
Please have it that we are never apart,
I need your company every day,
In my mind I have our last kiss on replay,
My heart body and soul belong to you,
All I need is for you to say you want me to,
Gio darling I care so much,
I shiver at the slightest touch,
My heart aches at the thought of not having you,
Gio, please just say you love me to.
Betty put down her pen and sighed. "Suarez, what's wrong?" she heard Gio say as he approached her desk. She spun round on her chair, shocked by his sudden appearance. "Hey Gio," she said smiling brightly. He waved at her and looked down at the bit of paper. "Hey, that says my name on it," he said as he reached out and grabbed the paper from her desk. Betty tried to grab it back but Gio had a firm grip on the paper. Hiding her face, she ran from her desk. Gio looked down and read the poem. He was shocked. She liked him too.
Noticing that Gio had left, Betty approached her desk slowly. The bit of paper had disappeared and she sighed. She opened her drawer to get some documents out and noticed a bit of paper with her name on it. She opened it and read it slowly and carefully; "Betty, I had no idea you felt that way about me. I figured you would appreciate a letter since you are a writer (and the best damn writer I know). I need to speak to you as soon as possible. It is important. I love you with all my heart, B. Love Gio xxx" Betty sat staring at the note and held it close to her heart. "So you like it then?" Gio asked startling Betty. Betty jumped out of her seat and threw her arms around Gio's neck. Scattering kisses across his lips and neck, she whispered, "I love you Gio." He smiled as she continues to kiss him. "I love you too," he whispered in her ear, feeling happy properly for the first time since he returned from Rome.
