Prologue

I remember the day like it was yesterday. The day I woke up to the sound of gunfire in the streets and jets soaring at the speed of light in the distance. I hurried to my bedroom window and watched a firefight between local police officers, alongside civilians with various firearms, against soldiers I knew weren't American. As I watched the scene, my body filled with fear. This, at that point of time, was the most terrifying and surreal experience in my life. Then again, this was before I knew war. This was the day I was sure my life was over. But I was wrong. This was really the day my life truly began. When the country I had always loved found its darkest hour, I would find my finest. This was the day the world stopped turning, and although I didn't realize it at the time, I had made a promise to myself. I would make them pay. The enemy I watched storm down my street wasn't gonna take America without a fight. They're gonna regret the day they stepped foot on American soil.

For the next couple of years I would be surrounded by the closest friends I ever had. But we were more than that. We were a family; brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers. We were all different. We were athletes, nerds, over achievers, cowboys, city dwellers, nature leaders, and true soldiers. We all shared one thing in common however: a love for our country. A wish to not let America go down quietly into the night. A wish to pull off one last display of courage, one last stand, one final sucker punch into the stomach of our enemy. Together we stood against the world, all bonded by the horrors of war. We were ready to do the most difficult thing anyone can ever do. Fight a guerilla war. Become the terrorists that we were taught to hate.

To the world this was World War 3, the Communist east versus the Capitalist west. But to every American, it was our second revolution. Once again we stood against oppression, just for the hope that our country would not perish from the world. My Name is Jack Hawkins, leader of The Orphans of America, and this is my story.

Hey reader! This is just a little intro chapter really. If you like my little patriotic ramble and want me to write this story, please leave a review telling me what you think!
