Hey guys! I come to you today with the start of hopefully a good new series! This is my attempt at a One-Shot series, and suggestions are always welcome. The first one is a JackxKatherine drabble that I hope you like!

Disclaimer: I do not own Newsies in any way, shape or form.

Katherine had been different today. Quiet, irritable, and running to the bathroom frequently. While Jack knew not to ask a woman if her... 'Time of the month'... had approached during the night, he couldn't shake that weird feeling he got each time she sat down at the dinner table.

They had been married for only three months, and in all the three years he'd known her, she had never gotten sick. Not even when Jack was extremely ill with a cold, and she still shared a mattress with him, and not when she spent a few days learning the awful living conditions in the slums of New York for a story specially assigned to her.

Jack was scared. Of course, he was always scared when someone got sick. Ever since Crutchie had shown up at the Refuge, a veteran of Polio, sickness was kept as far away from Jack as possible. When he did get sick, he declared the area around him a "keep away" zone, and locked himself in a room of the lodging house for a week while the boys made jokes and jeers floors below him.

It was dinner time now, and the spaghetti that Jack barely knew how to make was sitting in the sink of his and her's apartment, steaming up the kitchen while some red sauce cooked itself away on the stove. Katherine was still out, finishing up a story for the week, as far as Jack knew.

The door quietly clicked open while Jack was busy scooping the rest of the pasta into a bowl. He whipped his head around to see a pale Katherine in the doorway, her eyes wide and fearful.

"Everything okay, Kath?" He asked warily, pausing in his preparation to look at his wife with concern.

She only nodded, before rushing to the bathroom of the apartment and heaving into the toilet, the sound making Jack's face turn white. He rushed to her side, holding the dark chocolate curls that fell around her face back from the vomit.

"Easy, Ace." He cooed as he rubbed tiny circles into her back gently. "You need to go to bed, now."

She picked her head up, nodding tiredly as she flushed the toilet and reached towards the sink to wash her mouth out. She didn't say anything, only obeyed to Jack's will.

How much I am glad I am not a girl... Jack thought while he helped his sick wife to their bedroom, tucking her in gently while pulling around a bucket to her bedside. She murmured something gently into the pillow while he pushed her hair out of her eyes and pressed his lips to her forehead.

"J-Jack." She mumbled, pushing herself up off the bed and staring him in the eyes. "I'm, I... I'm not sick."

He rolled his eyes, crossing his arms while making his way towards the other side of the room. "Hate to break it to you, Katherine, but yes, you are."

"No, Jack. I'm not." She rolled her eyes in symmetry. "Can you, can you come sit with me,t hough?"

As far as he knew, you couldn't catch a woman's monthly 'gift', so he quietly obliged, taking a seat on his side of the bed and gently folding his arms around his wife, sliding her into his lap.

"You know, I-I went to the doctor today..." She said looking up at his eyes with admiration.

Jack nodded, smiling. "That's great. Maybe he'll know why you've been feeling odd."

"Mmhm." She gulped, taking a deep breath. "Jack, I'm... I'm pregnant."

The room fell silent, as he sat, his face lost in the news. "P-Pregnant."

Katherine held her breath, watching his face for any sign of movement. She knew this was a bad idea. There was no way he would want a child. No, a Newsie would stay a Newsie forever.

"I." Jack began, silencing his wife thoughts. "Love you, Katherine Plummer, so much. And I'll love our little one just as much."

They both broke into smiles that barely could contained on their faces, while a few giggles escaped their way from Katherine's throat, and the couple tightened their holds on one another. Jack pressed a kiss to his wife's lips, breaking apart to only look at her radiant face, that held a few tears that were as happy as they could be.

"I love you, Jack Kelly."

"And I love you, Katherine Plummer."

So what did you guys think? I hope that you liked it! Leave a review and a suggestion for what I should do next! I may update this more often if people want, but it's just a side thing while I'm working on my other story.
