"Sjin... are you asleep?" The man in my arms breathed slowly and peacefully. He had come home to me after finding Mahogany and I had never seen him so excited before. We, well mostly him, celebrated his achievement. To be honest, Mahogany or no Mahogany, I was just happy to have him back home. Though I would never admit it.
Letting him know that I hate when he leaves would only give him a big head. I don't want him to look down on me and I really don't want him to worry about me. The farm is his dream and I'll be damned if I stop him from going back.
I hold him as close as I can. He's so warm and soft. I'm dreading the fact that I'll have to let him go in the morning but I must. Very soon, I'm sure he'll leave that farm and come back to Sipsco again on his own. We'll be the duo we once were when he's ready. I can wait. My eyes close and I drift off to sleep comforted by my own reassuring thought.
