Kili looked at you, a gaze filled with everything you could have wished for; love, hope and pure adoration. The quest had been hard on the both of you; always running from some form of danger, but here in Beorn's house there was a small refuge from the hard journey. The two of you had lay claim to a bedroom, lit by honeycomb candles stuck on the wall, with a large bed (by Dwarfish standards) in the centre. It was there you lay now, on your sides chest to chest on top of the covers with your hands intertwined between each other's fingers. No words were spoken; there was nothing to be said. The only sound was the mingling of one's breath with the other's, and the gentle hush of the breeze in the trees outside of the skinchanger's home. So distracted by the seemingly endless dark colour of his eyes, you did not hear Kili gently say your name. "Yes?" You whisper back, only you don't receive a verbal answer. Instead, he leans forwards and softly presses his lips to yours as your eyelids flutter closed. You slide your own lips back against his, cupping one stubbled cheek with your free hand. Just like his earlier stare, the kiss is filled with everything you need. You feel his tongue gently press against your lips, silently asking for entry and you part your lips to let him in. He immediately explored your mouth with his tongue, your own meeting his at times. The both of you moaned quietly, not wanting to wake the others despite being on the other side of a thick wooden door, and he placed a hand on your waist as he rolled to be on top of you. His hand began to trail up your side just below your breast then down to your mid-thigh, hooking under your knee and pulling it up as pleasant pleasurable shivers rippled through your body. Your other leg rose to its own accord and you could feel Kili press against you, finding his weight to be a comfortable one. Irritatingly, the need for air became too great for the two of you and your lips broke apart. You were both panting for breath, your lips red from being kiss-bruised, and Kili rested his forehead upon your own. It was then he said that sentence, so full of honesty and feeling that left you smiling even after the kiss that came with it. The sentence you already knew was true but had yet to hear, the sentence that would be music to your ears coming from his mouth, the one sentence that was made up of three words and three syllables. "I love you."
