It's been about three years since I've used this account, but I wanted to write again so here I am. I don't know if I will add to past stories because those were started 3 years ago.

Inspired by an au on here: post/123001651715/au-ideas-you-never-asked-for

Lovino woke up with a start as he heard the door to downstairs open and shut at the sound of his grandfather leaving. He got down from his bed and stepped upon the chair by the window to get a good glimpse of the world outside.

It was the usual. His grandfather holding the door open to allow his younger brother to skip his way into the car so he could be taken to his music lessons. The green shirt, a little too big for his wiry frame, was the tell tale sign that it was him. After all, it seemed that Feliciano didn't wear anything besides that shirt.

Lovino got off of the chair and went to change into a fresh outfit for the day, beginning his morning routine. As he made his way to the bathroom he listened to his grandfather's car drive away from the house, he sighed. Whether it was out of relief or frustration in having the house to himself, even he couldn't tell. Maybe it was a bit of both?

The sound of tires across the pavement did not alert Lovino as he began to brush his teeth. Afterall, it was a fairly busy road in front of the small house. No, it wasn't that. It was the door opening followed by the barking of their small dog, Mafalda, that cause any alarm he had internally to go off.

He paused in his brushing, listening for more activity. When more footsteps continued as a baritone voice echoed through the halls, he began to panic. Who could possibly be here with him?

The Italian raced back to his room, careful not to make a sound. There he checks out the window. Sure enough, a car was sitting in the driveway that was not the one in which his only two family members had left the house in.

Now Lovino had to decide upon what to do next. His options seemed to be acting and being the hero as he stopped the intruder, or acting like a baby and hiding from the possibly armed criminal. Really though, in that moment, there was not choice. If he let the man stay as long as possible, Feliciano and grandpa came back soon, they would be ambushed. He had to act and act soon before the person downstairs got away.

He grabbed a baseball bat from his room and tip toed downstairs, intent on getting the phone and hitting the man if needed. As his vision cast upon the downstairs he saw a teen, putting their dog on a leash. The poor dog didn't know what was even going on as she wagged her tail.

Lovino knew better though. He raised his bat and started hitting the man on the arm, trying to get him to stop in his action.

"HEY STOP! YOU'RE STEALING MY DOG! WHAT THE FU-" Lovino's attack was stopped when the man picked him up, chuckling.

His attempts did not stop as he kicked and cursed.

The man began to speak. "No no no, my little friend. I'm not stealing your dog. I am just walking it because the man that lives here pays me to." He explained as Lovino was set on the couch.

Lovino then stops with a quiet. "Oh." He then gets off the couch and with a look to the man said "Well, carry on then." His face was a little red from embarrassment.

His grandfather had told him that there was going to be someone who would come to walk their dog, he just forgot. He left the living room to reach his own room again, too embarrassed to face the man again.
