Afterwards
Just a one shot because I am a terrible writer and I was pretty bored.
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Looking back on what 9s told her, about his journey without her, about his descent into madness, 2b should have known it would end like this. 9s laying there on the ground, her sword sticking out of his chest.
It was inevitable really, the way he looked at her, the way touched her. He was using her for support, and she let it happen. She loved him so much, and he loved her. So why did it go so wrong?
She should have known better, in this hollow world, meaningless world, there is no happiness, only an illusion. A2 warned her of this, but she stubbornly refused, thinking that she and 9s could move on from the terrible truth, and could find meaning in life through each other. But that was merely a pipe dream. After all 9s wanted to **** her.
They journeyed far and wide, finding some strange and weird things. They laughed, they cried, they mourned, and they survived. But it was all so empty, for their programing could not be denied. They were made to serve humans, not themselves. It was a foolish wish to think they could find something to give their lives meaning.
When 9s finally snapped, it was right after they made love together. They were laying next to each other, basking in each others presence, when 9s broke.
With a smile on his face and eye filled with love, he got on top her and put his hands around with her. 2b was confused, why would he do this? Was it something she'd done? Something she said?
As his hands slowly tightened around her throat, he slowly started laughing, his body trembling. It slowly escalated until the forest rang with his laughter. 2b's instincts finally kicked in at that point, she forced him off of her with her far superior strength.
She didn't try to reason with him, for when 2b is about to fight, her mindset switches into something that would only kill. It was how she killed 9s all those times before, and this time was no different.
When it was all over, 9s dead on the floor she looked up to the sky, her mind numb of all emotion and cried, for she had lost her purpose once more.
