This is adapted from a short story I wrote few years back, which we then adapted into a 9gag post a few months back. Halloween is just around the corner, so enjoy. ^,..,^

The Masterpiece

I have been lying for hours. It's 5:10 AM, and there's nothing much I can do.

I'm in the same room with my grandparents. They keep looking at me, and I can't help but to look back and try not to cry or scream. On my couch, I can see Mr. Huynh, Mr. Potts, Mr. Kokoschka, all sitting in the same posture, their mouths open, staring blankly ahead them. There's this strong scent of blood, and I feel paralyzed with fear.

Here's the thing: the second I make any hint that I'm not asleep, I'm completely fucked. I will die and there's nobody around to save me. I've been trying to think of a way out, but the only idea I have is to rush for the door and run outside the front door and scream for help, hoping any neighbor hears me. It's risky, but if I stay here, I will surely die. He's waiting for me to see his masterpiece...

About three hours ago... I heard screaming from the other side of the house.

I got up and went to check the noise, I took a peek outside my bedroom to see that there was blood on the carpet. I got really frightened and ran back to my bed, and hid under the sheets.

I tried to will myself to sleep, that this was all a vivid nightmare or something.

But I heard the door of my room open. Like a terrified child I was, I peeked under my blankets to see what's going on. I could see something dragging my grandparents into the room. It was not human, I can tell you that.

It propped my grandparents on the edge of my bed, and made them face me. And then it dragged the other boarders to my room, propping them on my couch like a young girl does with her dolls, creating some sort of macabre diorama. Then started rubbing its hands upon the wall, staining them with blood and then drew a circle with the devil's pentagram in it. The result would be called a masterpiece.

To finish it off, it scribbled a message onto the wall that I could not read in the darkness.

Then it crawled under my bed, waiting to strike.

The scariest thing is that my eyes got used to the darkness and I can read the message on the wall. I don't want to look at it, because it's too terrifying to think about.

But I feel the need to see it, before I get killed.

I raised my sheets a bit, peeking at the creature's masterpiece.

"I know you're awake.

Advanced Happy Halloween! ^^,
