Third Shadow
It was almost interesting how she never became a magical girl.
It was probably her friends. In all worlds, either Sayaka or Madoka or the both of them became one, and that protected her. In all worlds, Kyubey chased after Madoka and Sayaka, who burned with a strong wish, would catch its interest. In all worlds, Hitomi wished for things: for happiness, for her friends, for romance – typical things, but they didn't scream as loudly as Sayaka's wish and she didn't have worlds of karma piling on her like Madoka either. So she was the third that Kyubey always missed, the fortunate one that never got involved in fighting witches and sinking into that complete despair.
Sometimes she died as one of the many victims to a witch. Sometimes she survived. But never, not once, did she become a magical girl – or a witch. And it wasn't because she was incapable, but because she was caught between two glowing souls, two glowing soul gems – so why should Kyubey give her a second glance?
