So I've decided to maybe make this a two- shot. I think that I'll also write the conversation that Andy and Sam have next chapter. Or if people want me to stop it right where it is… then I won't.
He guesses he can't really blame her for running. That doesn't mean he has to like it though. Nor does it erase the hurt that her leaving caused.
He pulls out a beer from the fridge when he hears the door softly click. After the door shut, he takes a sip of the beer and leaned against the counter. For a moment he is overwhelmed by the sudden feeling of rejection. But then he gets a hold of himself and throws the half drunken beer into the sink.
He ignores the shattering of the glass as it hit's the side of the sink.
He stalks to his room and slams the door. He turns around wildly, and hits his lamp clean off his dresser. He sighs and leans down to pick up the broken lamp. His eye catches a piece of paper on his bedside table.
I'm sorry. I wish the lights hadn't come back on.
Disregard?
He eyes the paper dubiously for a moment before chuckling. He lifted up the paper and stared at it before shaking his head with a small smile on his face. He really wished the lights had not come back on.
He thought about calling her for a minute. Demanding her to explain why she thinks she can mess with him like this. He really dislikes the sudden thought that flows through his mind. No one messes with Sam Swarek. Especially not an idealistic rookie who finds it fun to play with him.
His eyes darken when he thinks that she's probably gone back to Callahan. That little twit was way to absorbed in his work to see what's right in front of him. His girlfriend had come to him for comfort. He cheers himself up with the thought that retraining night was coming up soon.
And he looks back the note again. And he suddenly has an epiphany.
He realizes something that it took Monica about five minutes to see.
He was in love with his rookie.
He stands there with a dumbfounded look on his face for a few minutes before whipping out his cell phone and sent a text message.
Your not getting away that easily.
