The Tolkien Song
Far over the Misty Mountains cold
Lived peoples proud and heroes bold,
From a Hobbit's door to the land of Mordor,
Together they fought against evils old…
Twice there came, in history
A Halfling's help to bring victory,
"The road goes ever on" was their song,
With every telling comes a grander story.
An elf prince, a dwarf warrior, and a grey mage
With four Shire-folk and two men of the Third Age
Come together to destroy The Deceiver's precious joy,
Their many journeys etched in a red book's page:
One ring to rule them all,
Two towers dark and tall,
Nine heroes unite, making wrong right,
Grey to white and the Evenstar's light,
A forest's fight and nation's might,
Bring forth a Dark Lord's fall.
All far over the Misty Mountains cold…
