Hello! This is for the music prompt "Only Hope" by Switchfoot. I was going to do the word prompt "ties" but I couldn't think of anything really so I listened to the song and had this idea. Hope you like it.
nummy nummy Destiel love
none of it belongs to me...just the throw together. Wish they belonged to me...I'd be rich...and wouldn't need a job. haha!
also, I think Switchfoot is a Christian band, I could be wrong, but in thinking that, I felt a little sacrilegious writing this...
Dean was missing. Castiel had popped into his motel room to talk to him, but he was gone. Both him and Sam. But Cas found Sam. Sam was in the Impala. Sam was safe, Dean was gone. Castiel frowned, worry edged into the back of his mind. He wondered about what happened to him. Whether or not he'd been kidnapped by a horde of demons and they were dragging his soul back to Hell as they searched for him. It made sense, if Dean was in Hell, how could he stop Lucifer?
Sam cast a wayward glance over at Castiel who had never been in such a deep brood. Or at least to his knowledge. Dean would know, but of course Dean was gone. Sam had stepped out for two seconds to get beer and food and suddenly Cas was popping into the car like he normally does upset and just said in his normal flat voice that "Dean is missing."
"Cas," Sam said suddenly, "We'll find Dean. Just try to relax. He probably got tired of waiting on me and went to a bar to find a girl."
Cas knew better than that, but he didn't say anything to Sam. Dean belonged to him now, so he knew he wasn't fooling around with women. Dean was his human.
"Cas?" When Castiel didn't even look at him, Sam sighed, "Fine, let's just listen to some music while we drive."
Leaning over, he flicked the switch to the radio and Metallica blasted out from the stero, making Castiel flinch. This was Dean's music. Dean's car. Dean, Dean, Dean.
"Change it."
"Right," Sam pressed one of the many buttons, switching the cassette player over to the radio.
...Sing to me of the song of the stars, of your galazy dancing and laughing and laughing agian...
Castiel frowned. Sam slowly began to sing along, not noticing Castiel's discomfort, again.
...when it feels like my dreams are so far, sing to me of the plans you have for me over again...
Trying to ignore the song that reminded him of Dean just as much as Metallica, Castiel looked the window, but the words just kept flowing through his ears, he couldn't tune them out. All he could see was Dean's smile, hear his laugh in the lyrics, smell his scent in the car. Just Dean.
...I pray to be only yours, I know now you're my only hope...
In a flash, Castiel was gone. He'd search for Dean without Sam. He couldn't take the music anymore. Prefering the silence of the night and the soothing sound of his winds on the wind. Sam glanced over to where Cas was, but he was gone. Sam shook his head and continued to sing along to the music.
...I'm giving you all of me, I want your symphony. Singing in all that I am, at the top of my lungs I'm giving it back...
thanks for reading!
