This is based after Lily stopped being friends with Snape.

Please R&R so I know whether to do more things like this, thanks!

Do I deserve this?

Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me?

That's what we are taught, right?

By the authoritative adults in our life's,

The teachers and parents.

But why?

Why do they lie to us from such a young age?

Is it because they have forgotten the pain,

The pain of words spat from venomous mouths.

Incomparable to that of physical pain, which heals over time,

Or even embarrassment that can and will be forgotten,

As these words attach themselves to you.

They never leave and you live in the shadow of them,

Fearing judgement and abuse from others,

Whether it is received in the corridors,

Or even through notes

Dreading waking up in the morning,

And wishing you didn't.

Is this really living?

A life of fear.

Dread,

And hate.

But why should we?

What gives someone the right to intimidate another?

So much so that they question their own existence.

That they consider things unimaginable.

All to escape the taunting and teasing.

Even if they believe it is a joke,

Even fun.

Do they not understand the damage,

Of constantly attacking someone

And being derogatory daily?

How one becomes a shell?

A nobody.

Do they think that this is okay?

It's not.

It needs to stop.

Because sticks and stones may break my bones,

But their words will forever scar me.
