Bellatrix knew her Lord held no love for her. She knew, very deep down, that no matter how loyal she was to him, she would always be just any old Death Eater to him, and if it would help him achieve his goals, she knew that he would feel no remorse at all disposing of her.
But she would still do anything, anything at all for him. Whether it was torturing a Muggle, or finding out exactly just how much unworthy blood ran through a Mudblood, everything she did was for him.
All she could do was admire him from afar while trying to conceal how she felt from the rest of the world, including the object of her affections. If he ever found out even an inkling of how she felt, surely she would be killed. The Dark Lord was above this silly love, and she knew it.
When Bellatrix had finally left those wretched dementors behind her, the Dark Lord had said that she would be rewarded. And she had been. But the Dark Lord was so keen to believe it was the killing and torturing she had yearned for every day of her long, miserable imprisonment. And while the victims he gave her were wonderful places to vent her frustration and temporarily shut out the world, Bellatrix continued to long for the only one she had ever loved. The only one she ever would love.
It was eating her up inside, and she knew it.
It was driving her even crazier, and everyone knew it.
But even Bellatrix had no idea that if the Dark Lord were to just take her hand for one short moment, just once, it would brighten her life forever.
It would not even matter to her if it were an accident.
