Follow You
The moment she was nominated as the Keyblade Master, Aqua realized something was wrong. There was nothing like the pain etched on Terra's face. The disappointment, the frustration and the heavy heart he lugged as he exited the room.
The darkness had slowly crept during that time, enticing him of the dreams which were now shattered. His once clear blue eyes were now clouded, dulled by the shadows of his doubts and inabilities.
When Eraqus had told her to watch over him, her heart swelled with vigor. She'd watch over him, as much as she had to. As long as she had to, just to guide him back from the wayward path he's walked into.
When she came upon him in the castle from where Cinderella fled, and he'd asked her if they had the same dream. Yes, she still had. It never changed. She believed and it warmed her heart that Terra believed.
When they met at Radiant Garden with Ven's tickets, she couldn't help but be amused. She'd remember the last night spent in their home. She'd remember how much of a model he was to Ventus, how his light had shined so bright she could bask in it.
She'd pull out the charm she'd made, one for each of them. Wishing, hoping that it will guide them all back after all this strife. It was her strength.
And when the battle at the Keyblade graveyard has caused them much conflict, still she believed, he was there. In those golden eyes, she believed he was there. No matter where the darkness had taken him, she would grab hold of him and bring him back to the light. Terra was a fighter, of that she knew. He wouldn't fall so easily.
The battle at the square had expended her strength. The darkness was quite immense.
She'd almost crumble, she'd almost fall but she had to be the light to the darkness that consumed him. And as she fell to the dark void, she'd tell herself.
"I'll follow you. I'll guide you out of the dark with my light."
She'd comfort herself with these words. Hoping, wishing and dreaming of his smile and the light in his heart to be back once again.
A/N: Just needed to get the Terra x Aqua feels out of my system with this short fanfic.
