I'm back? Maybe? I don't know. I had an idea and here we are. Inspired by a tumblr prompt. I'm a little rusty, but I guess it's okay. Give me time on this story, I already have an idea for the first actual chapter. I know this bit is short, sorry? Enjoy?

Prologue:

A girl stood facing the remains of the once proud guild hall of Fairy Tail. Tears welled up in her eyes as she clutched her backpack straps tightly. "No, this wasn't supposed to happen!"

She dropped to her knees and slammed her palms against the muddy ground. The rain fell as if the sky was crying. It reminded her of her mother. The image of her kind smile flitted across her memory and she fisted her hands into the mud. "They were supposed to be here! They were supposed to save everyone!"

"You must be Reina."

The girl whipped her head around to face the unknown female voice only to meet a hooded figure. "Who are you?"

The figure pulled her hood down, revealing the familiar face of Lucy Heartfilia, the great celestial mage of Fairy Tail. Granted, she had only seen her in the pages of Sorcerer's Weekly, but she often listened to her father recount his days on a team with Lucy while her mother reminisced in the stories of her old love rival.

"You knew my mother."

Lucy smiled sadly. "I knew all of them. Once. A long time ago."

Reina shakily stood up. "What do you mean? You're Lucy of Fairy Tail, you've always been here!"

The blonde shook her head and looked down, the rain already soaking her hair. "I'm not this Fairy Tail's Lucy. I came from the future. I tried to change things, but I didn't get here in time."

Reina's voice shook as more tears fell from her eyes. "Y-you mean- No! They can't be! They were supposed to change the world! They can't all be dead!"

Future Lucy hugged herself, her hands clenched into fists. "Look around! The world is burning as we speak, Reina! If I had only gotten there in time none of them would be dead! My friends, my family, they're all gone because of me!" Tears spilled out of her eyes like waterfalls, but her eyes held a fire that rivaled the one around them. "But I swear to you, I will get them back." Her body started to glow a bright golden. "I won't fail a third time!"

Lucy's body started to glow brighter. Reina reached out to her, but before she could Lucy's body exploded in a bright burst of light. All that was left of her was the particles floating back down to the muddy ground with the rain, like stars, shooting stars.
